The Gostwick Family Cart by Edith Chapman in 1932 shows that this William Gostwick was the son of John (born ca.1543)& Elizabeth (Petree) Gostwick, and g-son of Edmund & Anne (Hardin) Gostwick.  In HPR Finbergs Gostwick book this William is listed as the son of John  born 1537 & Elizabeth (Petree) Gostwick of Willington, and grandson of Sir William and Anne (Pike) Gostwick.  (SO VERY CONFUSING)kgk.

It is said that a monument is placed in the Church of Willington for Sir William Gostwick by his wife Jane (Owen) Gostwick.

On the North side of the tomb this enscription reads:
Here lyeth the body of Sir William Gostwyke, Bart, who had to wife Jane Owen, the daughter of Henry Owen, Esq., by whom he had issue 7 son's and 4 daughters.

On the South Side of the same tomb:
Ask who lies here, and do not weep, He is not dead, he doth but sleep;  This stony Register is for his bones, his fame is more perpetual than these stones: And his own goodness with himself being gone, shall live when earthly monuments are none.

According to the enscription on the North side of the Monument of Sir William Gostwyke/Gostwick, he and Jane had a total of 11 children, therefore from the listing above there is 1 son (not accounted for-possibly a ("Henry") and 1 daughter (possibly a "Jane")
