Gossett of Hart Co.Ky., and Arapaho, Custer Co.Ok. His wife Leah
Melissa Morris was the daughter of Richard Dikason and Phebe Burnett
(Egar) Morris of Ray Co. Mo.
Richard Thomas Gossett died in Albuq. N.M. Dec.15,1948 from Lung
cancer, and is buried at Sunset Memorial, Albq. N.M. His wife
Leah Melissa Morris Gossett died Oct. 19,l956 Albq. N.M. from a
stroke and is also buried at Sunset Memorial cemetery, Albq.N.M.
Richard Thomas and Leah Melissa (Morris) Gossett had, a total of 13
children to live to adulthood, including two sets of twins.
Twin's or triplets appear in Peter Gosset bv his 2nd. wife Martha
Jane Whitlow. Richard Thomas Gossets father "James Thomas" and.
Peter Gossett were brothers, and son's of Cavin Gossett.
Accordig to Aquilla (Gossett) Sharp with family bible in her posession
stated that William Ely "Bill" Gossett (son of Peter and Martha) was
born Jan, 12,1873 died Jan 2, 1922, and Henry Garland Gossett was born
Jan,12,1873 (son of Peter and Martha) died July 4,1891. Found in
the Metcalfe Co. cemetery records was Carl H. Gossett (son of Peter
and Martha) born Jan.10,1873 died July 4,1891.

and Evylynne Gossett were living in Albq. N.M., where we have
corresponded with each other for the past few years.
Evylynne (Graham) Gossett is the daughter of Charles Hiram,
and Mary Acklen (Hill) Graham.

Thompson Gossett is listed as the son of James Thomas Gossett
and the 2nd wife Minerva Harvey Albright Gossett.
Gossett-Bennett cemetery records, North of Wisdom, Ky on the
Bill Dilly farm are the graves of the above people. Also
of Tom Bennett born 1870 died July 18,1928 and Ann Bennett
born Jan 4, 1839 died Jan 4,1929. Ann Bennett may have been
the mother of Hulda Bennett, and Tom Bennett may have been
Hulda's brother, and he could have been her father.
It appears that Hulda Bennett was only 10 years of age when
she married Thompson Gossett. Back in those days, if you
were single at the age of 15 you were considered an old maid.
There is only 7 months difference in the death dates of
Thompson Gossett and Oscar Gossett, Oscar being 7 years old
when he died. Hulda could have died of a broken heart at
the very young age of 21 in 1904, and there could have been
some sort of sickness since Eddie Gossett died at age 19 in
1915.
