This indenture made and intered into this 31st day of January A.D. 1823 between REBECCA BOONE of Franklin County and State aforesaid of the one part and SAMUELTHOMAS of the same Co. and State of the other part, witnesseth that wherease ELIJAH UZZELL at March Court A.D. 1822 held for the Co and State aforesaid, was APPOINTED GUARDIAN to NATHAN & JOHNSON GOSWICK minors, and entered into bond with NATHANIEL HUNT his security for the faithfull performance of his guardianship which said bond is of record in said County & specifies a sum of money sufficiant to cover all the estate of the said minors which was or is taken likely to come into the hands of the hand of the said UZZELL guardian as aforsaid, the amount of which is not recollected, but may be obtained by reference to said bond now in the clerks office of said County and wherease REBECCA BOON mother-in-law of the said ELIZHA UZELL and GRANDMOTHER to NATHAN AND JOHNSON GOSWICK minors, as aforesaid did by letter bearing date 18th March,1822, promis and agree that if the said NATHANIEL HUNT would become security for the said UZELL for the guardianship of the said NATHAN AND JOHNSON GOSWICK that she would give to NATHANIEL HUNT a deed in trust on a certain negro girl of hers named MATILDA to secure him the said HUNT from any loss he may sustain by becoming security for the said UZELL for the guardianship as aforesaid.

This indenture made this 19th day of October 1816 between Joseph
Goswick,Senr of the County of Franklin and State of North Carolina of the
one part and Nicholas Goswick of the same County and State aforesaid of
the other part witnesseth that the said Joseph Goswick,Senr for and in
the consideration of the sum of $400.00 dollars to him in hand paid
the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself satisfyed, hath
granted bargained sold and conveyed unto the said Nicholas Goswick a certain
tract of parcel of land lying and situated in the said County begining
on FELTS line running thence North 105 poles to a pine, thence up
the Spring Branch to a double pine on a line thence South to a Black stump
thence West to a white oak, thence along the mile path to the last clearing
of Joseph Goswick, Junrs thence along the fence to a black gum corner thence
along the line to a Black oak, thence East line to the begining on a pine,
containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less to have and to hold
to him and his heirs forever the said Joseph Goswick,Senr for himself his
heirs Executors, adm's and doth convenant to and with the said Nicholas
Goswick for himself his heirs Executors, adm's and
assigns that the said Joseph Goswick Senr has at this time a good
lawfull and indefeasible estate in said land and good right and lawfull
authority to sell and convey the same in fee simple in manner and form
as follows.
The said Joseph Goswick, Senr. for himself his heris executors adm's
and doth warrant unto the said Nicholas Goswick his heirs executors, adm's
and asigns a good lawfull and indefeasible estate of incumberances whatsover
in testimony whereof the said Joseph Goswick,Senr have hereunto set his
hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written.

Franklin County March Sessions 1817 the foregoing deed was exhibited
in open court and execution hereof duly proved by oath of Robert Melton
and on motion ordered to be recorded. G.Hills.Test.
Refer to the Will of George Goswick who died 1812, leaving his Father, Joseph Goswick as executor of his will, and stating that if his wife "Becky" (Rebecca), was to re-marry, then his father was to sell all lands, and divide the moneys between his children.
On Jan. 19,1816 Rebecca Goswick married James Goswick and Joseph Goswick, Senr was bondsman.

This indenture made the 10th day of October 1816 between Joseph
Goswick,Senr. of the County of Franklin and State of North Carolina of
the one part and William Goswick of the
same County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said
Joseph Goswick,Senr for and in consideration term of the sum of $400.00
dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge
and himself satifsied hath granted bargained sold and conveyed unto the
said William Goswick a certain tract of parcel of land lying and situated
in
the said County begining at the Spring Branch on a pine which is
Nicholas Goswicks corner tree, running thence North East to the mouth of
the hard fare branch, begining a pine stump thence up the branch to a sweat
gum in the head of the said branch, thence North East line to Churchwell
Andersons line then up the said line to the corner in
a red oak, thence South line to two pines on the Spring Branch, thence
down the spring branch to the corner on two pines containing one hundred
and fifty acres more or less to have and to hold to him and his heirs
forever. The said Joseph Goswick, Senr for himself his heirs Executors
adm's & doth convenant to and with the said William Goswick for himself
his heris executors administrators and asigns, that the said Joseph Goswick,
Senr has at this time a good lawfull and indeafeasible estate in said land
and good right and lawfull authority to sell and convey the same in fee
simple in manner and form as follows.
