Answer:
My grandmother was Mary Susan McClure....My mother died 3 yrs ago and her sister Goldie is still living.  The only name I heard for him was Eddie  Lafait....which was written on the back of picture.  Mom called him Uncle Ed. Was there a death cert. for him? My mom said Uncle Henry (Dr. Henry) was married about 6 times and his career was army.  I have some of the army records. I think mom said he was married to a postmistress the last time. Charles McDonald did a lot of going around and searching the family....even took pix of headstones in TN. (in the rain). He sent me an article from his local newspaper about his quest for his ancestry. It is real cute about his cousin (me) getting him interested in the McClures when I sent him a copy of his grandfather's (James McClure) death
certificate......from then on out it was search and explore.  Near McKenzie, TN on Christmasville Rd. ...McClure farm is where he found the William McClure headstone. Mac called that old guy, the daddy rabbit. The military records of Dr. Henry McClure state that he was born in Detroit,
Texas.The daughter of Rufus said that the family was around Detroit, Blossom and Mac had a stone put in the Bethel cemetery ..near Fulbright...honoring McClure pioneers. We just think that is where they are buried.  It makes sense.

There is land record dated 19 Jan 1884 signed by S.F. McClure (Sarah Francis) deeding land for the cemetery to the Cumberland Presbyterian church...(Bethel).....then land deed by E.L. McClure (Ed) of Blue County, Indian Territory for $70. deeding the church 5 more acres.....1 m. from Fulbright. signed by Ed L. McClure on 19 Feb 1900. Mac sent me copies of these.  He and I would talk on the phone and he would send me some papers and ask what I thought.  He was such a neat man.  He
shared everything he found.Okay......you must be related thru the Ed. L. McClure line.....?

Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, Fannin County, TX

This cemetery lies in Fannin county , most of the town is in Grayson County. It is on highway 898 just on the north east corner of town. It is in 2 parts; The older part is on the south side of the road, the newer part is on the north and was opened when the flu epidemic of 1918 sent so many to the cemetery. However there is a third part not seen except from the very back, south east corner of the old part. It is the African American Oak Hill, see the bottom for details. Most of the information comes from the stones, but much of it from my records. I have looked through death records and added information for years.
