Obituary: Services for Susan E. Phillips, 91, of El Cajon, will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Greenwood Mortuary. Entombment will be in Greenwood Mausoleum. She died Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Iowa, lived in the county 34 years and was a homemaker.

Obituary: MARY "KITTY" COOPER, 40, of Colorado Springs died April 12, 1993, at her home. She was a homemaker.

 Mrs. Cooper was born Sept. 1, 1952, in Hopeville, Calif., to Chuck and Jackie (Goswick) Stoddard. Her mother survives and lives in Wickenburg, Ariz.
 Mrs. Cooper was married Feb. 17, 1993, in El Paso, Texas, to Albert Cooper, who survives.
 She also is survived by two sons, Anthony "Tony" Parker and Troy A. Ahart, both of Colorado Springs; a brother, Donnie Stoddard of San Antonio; two sisters, Jackie Cross and Julie Guest, both of Catulla, Texas; and a grandson..

LINDA LOU BASTIAN, 43, of Colorado Springs died April 15, 1993, at a local hospital. She was a bartender at Leonard's Bar and Grill.
 Private services are scheduled. Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., is handling arrangements.
 Miss Bastian was born Dec. 9, 1949, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to Arvid and Ruth (Rein) Mackie. Her mother survives and lives in Kingsford, Mich. She had lived in Colorado Springs since 1970.
 Miss Bastian also is survived by three brothers, Richard Mackie of Belgrade, Mont., Roger Mackie of Oak Creek, Wis., and James Mackie of Kingsford; and a sister, Janice Opsahl of Iron Mountain.

 STEPHENVILLE - Marjorie L. Caraway, a homemaker, died Wednesday at her Stephenville home. She was 66.
 Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Stephenville, where she was a member. Burial will be in Hico Cemetery. Lacy Funeral Home in Stephenville is in charge of arrangements.
 Mrs. Caraway, who was born in Roswell, N.M., had lived in Stephenville since 1979. She was a former resident of Hico.

 Survivors: Husband of 45 years, Cecil L. Caraway of Stephenville; two daughters, Tricia Latham of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Teri Weir of Stephenville; brother, Bill Campbell of Troup; and four grandchildren.
Garland G. Davis
 RANGER - Garland G. Davis of Ranger, a retired farmer and rancher, died Wednesday at a Ranger nursing home. He was 89.
 Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger. Burial will be in Exray Cemetery in Erath County.
 Mr. Davis was born in Hannibal in Erath County. He was a Methodist.
 Survivors: Three stepdaughters, Bonnie Davie of Brownwood, Lottie Ainsworth of Ranger and Evelyn Hull of El Cajon, Calif.; stepson, Homer Goswick of Abilene; and sister, Pollie McAlister of Tyler.

 SAN ANGELO - A.A. "Jim" Goswick, a retired Bates Oil Co. employee, died Saturday in San Angelo. He was 71.

Mr. Littrell was born in Wheeling and lived in Leavenworth before moving to Sunrise Beach in 1991. He managed a senior citizens' housing complex in Leavenworth for 51/2 years, retiring in 1991. Earlier he owned the Littrell Mercantile Grocery Store in Wheeling for 28 years. He was a member of the church. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Littrell of the home; two sons, Dennis Littrell, Lawson in Clay County, and David Littrell, Lone Jack in Jackson County; a daughter, Pamela Chenoweth, Olathe; a brother, Max Littrell, Chillicothe; three sisters, Anna Ruth Pickering, Atlanta, Mary Margaret Norwood, Wheeling, and Carol Nadine Gossick, Kansas City; two grandsons; and two stepgrandchildren.

Obituary: GRANVILLE -- Gerald Gusick, 66, of Granville died at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 1997, at St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley.
 He was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Granville to Joseph and Gertrude Gimbal Gusick.
 Surviving are one nephew, Joseph Gusick of Granville; two step-nephews, Tim Gusick of Varna and Tom Gusick of Peru; two step-nieces, Carol Smith and Cheryl Gusick, both of Bloomington; and four cousins. One brother preceded him in death.
 He was a utility repairman for Lonestar Cement for 38 years before retiring.
 A member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8324, he served in the Army from 1951 to 1953.
 Services and visitation will be private. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery. Helmer-Shields Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Lee Goswick

Charles Lee Goswick, 52, of Abilene died Sunday at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Memorial Park
with Rodel Liwanag and Jack Sharp officiating,
directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mr. Goswick was born in Pecos and moved to Abilene from Odessa in 1952.
He graduated from Hawley High School in 1966
and worked 13 years for American Starter and Generator and five years
for Abilene Aero. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the
Vietnam War and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Roberts of Abilene; one son,
Christopher Goswick of Abilene; three stepsons, Michael
Morgan, Michael Roberts and Ryan Roberts, all of Abilene; his mother,
Lavaun Goswick of Abilene; one brother, Carl Thomas Goswick
 of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 41,

Grape, Abilene 79601.

          Ruth Goswick, 77, a resident of Russellville, died Sunday, October 23, 2005 , at the home of her daughter.  She was born July 14, 1928 , in Pope County , to Edward and Myrtle Viola Daniel Moore.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie “Bill” Goswick; a grandson, Jason Dedmon; an infant daughter; a brother, Charles Eugene Moore; and two sisters, Nettie Lou Moore and Edna Bishop.

          Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Dallas Dedmon of Russellville; five sisters, Wanda Balkman and Jo Young both of Russellville, Lois Dennis of Atkins, Joy Ford of Dardanelle, and Betty Rainer of Little Rock ; and other relatives and friends.

          Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005 , at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Roger Bishop and the Rev. Jeremy Mathis officiating.  Burial will be in Bowden Cemetery near Pottsville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

          Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Goswick’s nephews, Mike and Tim Dennis, Larry Wooten, Robert and Chris Taylor, and David Mears.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Goswick’s remaining nephews.

          Visitation will be 7 – 8 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2005 , at the funeral home.

          Josephine “Josie” Chisum Prince, 93, a resident of the Victor Community in northern Pope County , died Saturday, November 19, 2005 , at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville.

          She was born June 13, 1912 , at Victor to John Green and Sarah “Sallie” Elizabeth Goswick Chisum.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Falling Water Church .  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L. Monroe Prince; a son, Hervie Joe Prince; a daughter, Mildred E. Prince; eight brothers, James A., John, and Virgil N. Huff, William T. Prince, Robert W., John R., J. Thomas, and William H. Chisum; and eight sisters, Rebecca Rains, Lydia Masterson, Mollie King, Nancy Chisum, Mary Standridge, Martha Chisum, Annie Ford, and Ollie Henson.

          Survivors include a son, Hartsill E. Prince of Hector; five grandchildren, Lannie Prince of Russellville, Randy Prince of Searcy, Joe Prince and Belinda Dillard both of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Brenda Kay Kniffen of Sedan, Kansas; 16 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren.

          Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at the Falling Water Church with the Rev. Lester Chisum officiating.  Burial will be in Brock Cemetery at Victor under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

          Active pallbearers will be Randy, Lannie, Josh, and Joe Prince, Joe Prince Jr., and Arlie Chisum.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Dillard and Mathew Hill.

          Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2005 , at the funeral home.



 





      John "Jay" Goswick Jr.
      NEWPORT NEWS - John 'Jay' Goswick Jr., 55, died April 23, 2006. He was
born October 30, 1950, in Norfolk, Va., to the late John Thomas Sr. and
Dorothy Dalrymple Goswick. He was a professional musician playing the guitar
and singing, an avid football fan enjoying his favorite team the Dolphins.
Jay is survived by his brother Norman 'Dal' Goswick and a niece and nephew.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to
the American Heart Association Arrangements are under the care of Altmeyer

      Floyd Luther Goswick Sr.
      Floyd Luther Goswick Sr., 84, of Richmond, Va., died on Saturday,
April 1, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eunice
Goswick; and a son, Larry D. Goswick. He is survived by his wife of 64
years, Frances R. Goswick; two sons, Floyd L. Goswick Jr. and Lenny D.
Goswick; one daughter, F. Joanne Honeycutt and her husband, Roger;
daughters-in-law, Pamela E. Goswick and Rebecca (Becky) Goswick; 11
grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was a member of St.
Andrew's United Methodist Church. Floyd served honorably in the U.S. Army
from November 20, 1940 to June 2, 1945. He served during World War II at
Casablanca and the Continental United States. He received the American
Defense Service Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, a
Lapel Button for no time lost, and an honorable discharge. Graveside
services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Westhampton Memorial Park, with
military honors. Arrangements by Bliley Funeral Homes' Chippenham Chapel.

      GOSWICK, MRS. IRENE (SPENCER), age 90, of Auburn, KY, passed away
April 10, 2006. She was born in Sumner County, Tennessee, on March 15, 1916
to the late William D. and Beulah (Gillihan) Spencer. She lived in Cahaba
Heights and Pelham, Alabama before retiring to Auburn, KY. She was retired
from the American Liberty Insurance Co. in Birmingham. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Mr. Lawrence Goswick and brother, Edward Spencer. She
is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Dovie Spencer, Auburn, KY; nephews,
Mr. Howard Spencer and wife Judy, Russellville, KY and Mr. Dale Spencer and
wife, Mary, Franklin, KY; great niece, Mrs. Sonja Cauley and husband, Jimmy,
Russellville, KY and great nephew, Mr. Duane Spencer and wife Leslie,
Russellville, KY. A graveside service will be held on Saturday April 15,
2006 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, AL at 11:00 AM, Howard
Spencer presiding. The family will receive friends on Friday April 14, 2006
from 5-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home
directing.



      Mary May Goswick born June 17, 1928, is remembered as a vibrant,
loving mother, grandmother and friend. An RN and nurse practitioner, Mary
lived in Tucson for 25 years. Mary passed away and went to be with our Lord
on February 7, 2006. Mary is survived by her daughter, Katherine "Katy"
(Kay) Bagnall; her son, John (Julie) Goswick; sisters, Betty Ortega and
Shirley Park; and grandsons, Jake and Tyler Goswick. A memorial service will
be held on Friday, February 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY
CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

      Clara Goswick
      Clara Goswick Funeral services for Clara Goswick, 67, of Plainview,
will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Johnson,
pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by
Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Goswick died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, in
Prairie House Living Center. She was born July 9, 1937, in Rush Springs,
Okla., and married James Goswick on Oct. 15, 1955, in Plainview. She moved
to Plainview at age 12 with her parents and graduated from Plainview High
School in 1956. She had worked as church secretary for St. Paul Lutheran
Church and Seth Ward Baptist Church. She also worked as a bookkeeper for
Barley's Refrigeration for 22 years, Roland's Automotive, Children's
Exchange and Play It Again. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter #37 for
30 years. She was on the board of directors of South Plains Health Provider
and a member of Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and Mark Hatch of Plainview and Kathy and
Paul Gonzalez of Lubbock; two brothers, Melvin Case of Montgomery, Ala., and
Claudie Ray Case of Plainview; one sister, Christine Vinson of Plainview;
six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Elmer Morris
DANVILLE -- Elmer Elton Morris, 81, of Danville died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006.
He was born May 23, 1924, at Mena to George David and Florence Goswick Morris. He was a retired poultry and cattle farmer, and a member of Danville Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Minnie Morris; and his parents.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, George and Jan Morris of Belleville; daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Darrell Campell of Delaware, and Jeaney and Clinton Kimbrough of Danville; brothers, Earl Morris of South Carolina and George Morris of Indiana; a sister, Velma Wooten of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Justin Kimbrough of Danville, Teresa Tramel of Russellville, Darin Stephens of Clinton and Tina Stephens of Russellville; and great-grandchildren, Cory Stephens of Dardanelle and Gannin Stephens of Clinton.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Danville Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Eddie Birdsong officiating. Burial will be in Moss Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

Ray Chism
DANVILLE — Ray Dean Chism, 76, of Ola died Sunday, Dec. 28, at his home.
Born Jan. 29, 1927, at Bailey Branch in Yell County to the late Jess and Laura Hill Chism, he was a poultry grower for Tyson Foods and a member of the Plainview VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Chism.
Survivors include a son, Don Chism of Ola; a daughter, Sharon Perisho of Hot Springs; two brothers, Lee Chism of Danville and Bill Chism of Texas; four sisters, Lallie Francis of Rison, Annie Holt of Centerville, Grace Rollans of San Antonio, Texas, and Rose Stevenson of Beloit, Wis.; three grandchildren, Neil Taylor of Plainview, Jennifer Taylor of Chicago, Ill., Jamie Perisho of Hot Springs; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Cornwell Chapel at Danville officiated by Bro. Chris George. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Lawayne Holt, John Ed Holt, Tommy Holt, Tommy Chism, Jerry Chism, Billy Chism, Kerry Chism and Bobby Chism.
