COVEY/ROSENCUTTER CEMETERY

Located on private property at approximately 86th and South Maybelle Street, Jenks, Tulsa County, Oklahoma

This project was begun September 27, 2000 and, as of February 20, 2004, is as complete as we can get it! We will add updates as often as we can get out there to the cemetery.

Surveyed and Listed By Bob, Susan and Timmy Strain, and Patty Sanco (c) 2002

UPDATED May 4, 2006

The updates on this cemetery listing through 1996 were provided by Darla Covey-Hall. We are grateful to her for sharing with us and for her interest in this inventory. Thanks, Darla!

UPDATE ON THE COVEY CEMETERY
April 15, 1996, by Darla Hall

In the past few years, several improvements have been made to the cemetery that I hope everyone will notice and appreciate.

First, the installation of a 360 degree compass, mounted in a square marble stone. The compass features a peg in the center which will allow stones to be located with a degree and distance from the center. The initial readings will be taken with a laser survey station. Mike and Opal Reeves, owners of Tulsa Monument Company at 1735 East 11th Street in Tulsa donated the center stone, mounted the compass and installed the stone, free of charge, for the families of people buried in the cemetery.

A new sidewalk was put in to be used during rainy weather, donated by Jack & Lucy Covey, Darla Hall, and Roy & Sherry Heim.

A beautiful Canopy was donated by Mark Griffith of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home, 4424 S 33rd West Ave, Tulsa.

New fence donated by Jack & Lucy Covey and Calvin Kent for the front of the cemetery.

Special recognition must be given to Calvin Kent, who was the first to say to Jack Covey, "when do we start to fix up the cemetery." Calvin is always there when we need him and he has contributed many hours to the cemetery.

Please review the alphabetical listing and location map and let me know if there are any corrections to be made.

If you or your family would like to contribute toward the maintenance of the cemetery, for mowing, etc., please contact Jack Covey.

A beautiful improvement to the COVEY/ROSENCUTTER CEMETERY is the addition of this lovely fountain. When the photograph was taken, it was a cold and blustery day, the fountain was not running and my sister, Pat Mayo-Sanco, was freezing! Thanks, Patty, for helping me with all of the photographs!
