CLARENCE HENRY WALKER

Clarence Henry Walker, beloved brother, husband, father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005.

Clarence was a lifelong resident of Sapulpa, although he resided the last two years at the Claremore Veteran's Center in Claremore.

Clarence served as a motor mechanic during World War II from May 1943 to October 1945 in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning from active duty service, Clarence came home to Sapulpa and opened an auto repair shop on Lee Street. Clarence became associated with Fred Jones Ford, in Tulsa, and eventually became a truck driver for Auto Convoy; and a member of the Local Teamsters Union 523.

Clarence was a man of many hats throughout his life. His hobbies included a love of fishing and enjoyed the company of his numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Clarence, the youngest of nine children born to Jessie J. and Anna J. Walker, of Sapulpa, was preceded in death by his mother, and father; brothers Jessie Walker, Herschel Walker, Elmer Walker, Paul Walker, sisters Irene Cosar and May Glover; his beloved wife of 46 years Fannie Walker; daughter Lillian V. Walker; and son Stephen F. Walker.

Clarence is survived by sisters Audrey Osborn, of California, and Bessie Rennaker, of Missouri; four children Clarence Eli Walker, of Sapulpa, Sawena Sue Stephens, of Sapulpa, Dianna Ferguson-Mantzey, of Phoenix, Ariz., and James Mawey Walker, of Sapulpa; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

We love you Dad. Your presence will be missed, but in our hearts you will always be with us forever.

Funeral services for Clarence have been set for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 in the Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glen Hood officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. District Rifle Squad. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
