Edith Frances Nolan Padgett

Edith Frances Nolan Padgett was born March 19, 1912 and departed this life April 18, 2005 at Sapulpa. She was born at Stilwell to Frances Lucinda Bohannon and Robert Emmett Nolan. She married Ephraim T. Padgett Jan. 4, 1934 at Stilwell.

The family moved to Tulsa in 1952. Mother's joy was gardening and sewing. She sewed for others besides family and always had canned goods or fresh produce for all who came to visit. The last few years before her retirement, she worked at Moore's Memory Chapel in Tulsa as a housekeeper. Her motto was "clean thoroughly!" After retiring, she and Ephraim returned to Stilwell until health issues brought them to Sapulpa (1996) to be near their children.

She is survived by her daughter Frances Hughes, and husband Harlan, of Sapulpa; her two sons Berl Gene Padgett and wife JoAnn, of Sand Springs, and Nolan Lee Padgett and wife Patricia, of Cathedral City, Calif.

Edith is survived by her sister Erma Dee Trogdon, of Loveland, Colo. and brother Emmett Duane Nolan, of Carinillo, Calif.

Edith gave her whole heart to God when she was 13 years old and church was her life. To be present at services was very important to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Regine Nolan Fink, Fate, Linzy, Byrt, Robert and Eugene Nolan, Reba Hair Diss and Berdie Hair Goss.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the Free Holiness Church, Kellyville. Committal service was at 2 p.m. at Spade Mountain Church and Cemetery.
