FAYE "MUTT" EDWARD HARGER

Faye "Mutt" Edward Harger, 93, of Sapulpa, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Faye was born Jan. 8, 1912 in Havana, Ark. to the late John Wesley and Effie Eva Harger. Faye quit school at an early age to start working in the fields to help his family. He learned young that hard work and family were very important.

Faye married Gladys English on Sept. 10, 1932. It was then they started their life together which has taken them all over the United States. They chose to raise their children in Warner. Faye had many professions in his lifetime but spent most of his time as a dairy farmer, a share cropper, a cotton ginner and a laborer for the Oklahoma Highway Department. He retired from the Highway Department in 1973.

Faye and Gladys moved to the Sapulpa area in 1982 to be close to their children. They instilled in their children a sense of hard work and a deep love for the Lord. Faye was a founding member of the Pope Chapel Church in Warner. In most recent years he and Gladys have been active members in the New Life Pentecostal Church in Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings Truman, Geraldine, Virginia, Darren and Albert.

Faye leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 72 years Gladys Harger; his children Haden Harger and his wife Eunice, Dorothy Archer and her husband the Rev. Bob Archer, Barbara Young and her husband Freddie, Annette Everett and her husband James, Charles Harger and his wife Nancy, Darrell Harger and his wife Carol, and Jeff Harger and his wife Jean; his brothers Nathan Paul Chappell and his wife Dotsie, Charles Houston Chappell and his wife Roberta, and Joseph Harger and his wife Gerry; his sisters Juanita Hyden and Reva Akee; his 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005 at Wesley Smith Funeral Home, 1208 South Main Street in Sapulpa. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at The New Life Pentecostal Church 1541 West 71st Street in Tulsa. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at The Warner Memorial Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Grace Hospice and especially to nurse Sally Swasho. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wesley Smith Funeral Home.
