Florence Virginia Pratt Stamps completed her earthly journey June 29, 2005.
She was born to William and Florence Pratt who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her brothers William and Richard Pratt and her daughter Cathy, who died May 31, 2005.
Stamps is survived by her husband of 66 years, Preston Stamps; daughter Rebecca Young; grandson Craig Young and wife Raeann; and great-grandchildren Coleman and Addison Young. She is also survived by Mitch Bright and Kelly Bright Chichon. for whom she provided daycare from infancy to school age.
Despite caring for Cathy, a special needs child from birth to her death last month at age 64, Stamps was a co-leader of Blue Birds and Campfire Girls for her daughter Becky and her friends. She was an active member of both Ridgeway Baptist Church and most recently the First Baptist Church in Sapulpa. She loved attending Sunday school and church services. She was especially joyful when family members joined her in worship.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2005 at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Green Hills under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
