Michael Whinery, of Sapulpa, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at the age of 52.

Michael was born July 14, 1953 in Sapulpa and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Sapulpa High School in 1971, a member of the Sertoma Club and the Elks Lodge, and he had retired as a self-employed auto mechanic.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Muriel Whinery.

Survivors are his wife Mevelyne, of the home; daughter Carla Harlan, of Sapulpa; grandchildren Carly and Carter Harlan; brothers Bill Whinery, of Sapulpa, Phil Whinery, of Kellyville, and Ronnie Whinery of Disney, Okla.; sisters Kay Dicken, of Sand Springs, Anna Jo Harvey, of Sand Springs, Linda Newton, of Kansas, Okla., and Glenda Glenn, of Sapulpa.

Funeral services for Michael have been set for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 in the Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Peters officiating.

Interment will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.

Serving as casketbearers will be Butch Glenn, Steve Vickers, Dennis Wadley, A.J. Carter, Ed Thompson and Tim Harper.

Honorary bearers will be Tom Beason, Jimmy Davis, Cy Lance, Lonnie Hudgins, Mark Devore and Fred Buff.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
