Paul Edward Blair, 70, died at his home in Fort Worth, Nov. 5, 2005.

A retired Air Force Major, he was a combat veteran who received numerous decorations including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He accumulated more than 7,000 hours of flying time during his career.

Born in Kiefer Dec. 18, 1934, he earned his BA and MA from the University of Oklahoma and remained proud of his affiliation with the University. A cartographer and navigator, he enjoyed reading history and studying maps. Most of all, he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Pearl Remley; his brother Sammy Blair and his twin sister Pearl Blair.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Katherine Blair; daughter Alice Carter and husband Mark; son David Blair and wife Ann, all of Fort Worth; sister June Irby; brother Robert Blair and wife Nellie, of Sapulpa; son-in-law Al Remley of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family has entrusted the direction of the services to Green Hill Funeral Home.
