Raymond M. Sawyer, 60, of Sapulpa, passed from life on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005.

Raymond was born Nov. 5, 1945 in Monett, Mo. to Harley and Hallie Sawyer. He married Peggy Stephens Aug. 5, 1975. He was in the construction business and had lived in the Sapulpa area most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Raymond enjoyed life and he seemed to know everyone and that was because he never met a stranger.

Raymond was loved by all his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife Peggy of the home; children Raymond Sawyer, of Mannford, Joe Sawyer, of Coweta, James Sawyer, of Tulsa, and Melissa Sawyer, of Inola; grandchildren: Sofie Sawyer, of California, Avery Sawyer, of Arkansas, and Nick Sawyer, of Mannford; aunts Clarabelle Bounous and Suzie Etter; mother-in-law Lois Stephens, of Sapulpa; sisters-in-law Hazel Downs, of Sapulpa, and Georgia Resler, of Mounds; and brother-in-law Jim Stephens, of Sapulpa.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Raymond Sawyer II, Joe Sawyer, J.L. Sawyer, Melissa Sawyer, Ed Bounous and Harold Shelton. Honorary bearers are Bill Downs, Jason Beem, Brady Rush and Tom Butcher.

Funeral services will be under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
