While there, she met her future husband, Ellis J. Easterling, and they were married June 29, 1946 in Claremore. She began her homemaking career in Wagoner with the birth of her first child and Ellis working for the Veterans Administration. In 1950, when Ellis was called back to active military service in Korea, Nancy worked as a local telephone operator . . . somehow she always knew what was going on in Wagoner. After Ellis' return in 1955 they moved to Muskogee where they began their automobile profession and Nancy returned to her homemaking duties. In 1960, another dealership brought them to Sapulpa, where Nancy would raise her 3 children. Through several auto agencies and other business opportunities, Nancy was a constant and firm supporter of her husband's endeavors. For 40 years, she attended First Christian Church in Sapulpa. Her lifetime was devoted to being a loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother. The greatest joy of her life were her grandchildren, several of which were raised in her same neighborhood. She catered to each grandchild and was famous for her swimming pool, short-order meals, grilled-cheese sandwiches and cookies. Needless to say, she was adored by the kids and they all spent this last Spring break visiting their "Nana." Nancy always maintained a quick wit, a cute story and always had an opinion on any topic. Keeping a sharp eye on local politics was her specialty. Nancy is preceded in death by: her parents and sister, Jane Damet. She is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Ellis J. Easterling; and their 3 children, Carol Barrett and husband, Jim of Shelbyville, KY, Gale Gish and husband, Mark of Tahlequah, and Steve Easterling and wife, Melissa of Tulsa She is also survived by: her 5 loving grandchildren, Brooke, Barrett, Anna and Thomas Gish and Libby and Catherine Easterling.
