Randy Vincent Hankins, 30, of Kiefer was killed this morning in a head-on traffic collision on Highway 75, northeast of Sapulpa, that involved Hankins' car and a semi-truck.

The highway tragedy happened at 6:04 a.m. on Highway 75 (The Beeline), just north of the 96th Street exit to Jenks, according to Jenks police chief, Lloyd Ruddell.

Hankins was transported by Life Flight emergency helicopter to St. Francis Medical Center of Tulsa, where he died.

Driver of the truck, Charles William Carey, 61, of Fort Worth, Texas, was listed in critical and traumatized condition at St. Francis. Carey was transported to the hospital by Jenks ambulance.

Ruddell said Hankins was southbound on Highway 75 in a Toyota when his car crossed the center median and smashed into the northbound semi-truck driven by Carey.

It took emergency workers 55 minutes to remove Carey from the truck, Ruddell said.
