Walta E. Dobbratz, 84, of Modesto, Calif., died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at her residence.

Visitation was held Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at Colonial Chapel-Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in Modesto. Funeral services were held today at Colonial Chapel with interment following at Acacia Memorial Park.

Mrs. Dobbratz was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Seneca, Mo. She moved to Modesto from Oklahoma 52 years ago. She was a school teacher in Modesto for 39 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Mr. Dobbratz is survived by her brother, Dwight Maulding, of Sapulpa; four nieces; nine great-nieces; six great-nephews; and one great-great niece.

Dobson retired from Liberty Glass and was a veteran of World War II.

Edna Ruth Dodd

Edna Ruth Dodd was called home to be with her Lord and Savior and to join once more with her husband Charles up in heaven.

She was an identical twin. Her twin, Ella, resides in Sapulpa. They were known as the "Cheshire Twins." She was born to Vernon and Ruth Cheshire on April 6, 1916. She attended the following schools: graduated at Sapulpa High School on the national honor roll in 1934; Sapulpa Jr. College; and Oklahoma School of Business in Tulsa.

She worked as a stenographer for Midstates Oil Company in Tulsa. She was the church organist for the Methodist Church in Sapulpa. She married Charles Dodd in 1943 after his discharge from Army Air Corp. They moved to Lebanon, Ore. then to Aberdeen, Wash. In 1957, they moved to Salem. They raised two daughters.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Trinity United Methodist Church. She loved playing the piano or organ. She was called to play at many various functions. She enjoyed her grandchildren, taking walks in Bush Park, decorating the house with whatever she had lying around and ballroom dancing with Charles.

She is survived by her sister Ella Cames, of Oklahoma; niece and nephew Sandie and Daryl Howard, of Oklahoma; daughters and sons-in-law Lynda and Dennis Burrage, of Salem, and Marilyn and Alan Porter, of Sheridan; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her younger sister Maxine Clements, husband Charles C. Dodd and great-granddaughter, Natalie Kay.

Bobby G. Donaldson

Bobby G. Donaldson, of Sapulpa, died Monday, May 5, 2003 at the age of 71. Bobby was born Oct. 10, 1931 near Pickett Prairie and had lived in the Sapulpa area all of his life.

He was the current owner of Harmony Woodruff, where he had worked for 56 years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a 1950 graduate of Saulpa High School. Bob was very active in the Sapulpa Lions Club where he had been a member for 36 years.

He had received the Melvin Jones Award which is the highest award a Sapulpa Lion can receive. In 1969 he became assistant treasurer and in 1970 became the treasurer till 1973. He had served as first, second and third vice president before becoming president in 1977. He was also on the board of directors for many years and had perfect attendance from 1967 until 1992.

He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Saulpa Historical Preservation Committee. Bob also was a loyal fan of the Sapulpa Chieftains and the OU Sooners.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Delores on Nov. 19, 1991 and by five brothers and sisters.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, Don Guinn, Doug Guinn, Ron Guinn, Roger Guinn, Gene Guinn, Rick Guinn, Mary Brockus, Betty Harper and Linda Stanton.

Funeral services for Bob have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003 in the Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Archie Daniels officiating.

Interment will follow in the South Heights Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Honorary bearers will be members of the Sapulpa Lions Club, Bill Armstrong, Robert Wood, Clyde Roberts, Don Wilson and Randy Hilliard.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

B.L. "PETE" DONATHAN

B.L. "Pete" Donathan, 62, of Sapulpa, died Sunday, July 20, 2003 at the St. John Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Donathan was born Aug. 5, 1940 in Tecumseh to Bluford and Leona Howell Donathan. He lived in Sapulpa for the past 37 years. He moved to Sapulpa from Henryetta.

He was married to Kay Berryhill on Aug. 11, 1961 in Sapulpa. He was well known in this area as a cattleman. He attended the Faith Baptist Church.

One of his greatest loves was watching his grandchildren in their different sporting activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Trelavee Donathan.

Survivors include his wife, Kay, of the home; his children, Angela Bradly and husband Phillip, of Glenpool, and Jon Keith Donathan and his wife Alicia, of Oologah; grandchildren Todd Crabtree, John David Crabtree, Cheyene McIntosh, Austin McIntosh, Amanda Jade and Bailey; brothers Dr. Russell Donathan, of Glenpool, and Dale Donathan, of Henryetta; sisters Darlene Bartolina, of Edmond, and Glenda Vance, of Henryetta; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Vance officiating.

Interment will follow in the Green Hill Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casketbearers are nephews Ralph Craig Henderson, Robert Bartolina, Scott Bartolina, Matt Donathan, Jason Donathan, Dan Donathan, Russell Donathan, Paul Vance and Mark Lance.

The family has requested that friends who wish may make donations in lieu of flowers to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Tulsa Leukemia Society.

As a long time member of New Haven United Methodist Church, she served by arranging the flowers for the sanctuary as well as playing in the bell choir. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Montgomery; daughter, Linda Brown. TOMMY DALE DOTSON

Tommy Dale Dotson was born on April 26, 1935 to Margaret Irene Layton Dotson and Andy Thomas Dotson in Collinsville, Oklahoma and lived most of his adult life in the Sapulpa area and departed this life on June 4, 2003 accompanied by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pearl Dotson, of the home, and four children: Brenda Beesley, of Sapulpa, Tressa Dowdy, of Sapulpa, Steven Dotson and wife Darla, of Kellyville, and Mike Dotson and wife Brenda, of Kiefer; nine grandchildren: Kelli and husband Terry Cook, Kevin and his wife Tina Denison, Jamie Stockstill and her husband Darrin Stockstill, Jerod Dotson, Samantha Dowdy, Stephanie Dotson, Dusty Dotson, Crystal Dowdy and Jenika Dotson; five great-grandchildren: Taylor Boggs, Brinlee Denison, Jaylee Cook, Haylee Denison and Gage Stockstill. Tommy had extended family and were all loved equally.

Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers are Bobby Dotson and Bill Inhofe.

Tommy owned and operated Dotson Produce for 35 years at locations in Bartlesville, Sapulpa and Bixby, Oklahoma.

The family asks in lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Side Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund.

Funeral services for Tommy have been set for 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003 in the West Side Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Millard McGuire officiating.

Jimmy E. Downey Sr.

Jimmy E. Downey Sr. was born Jan. 20, 1936 in Canton, Miss. and died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004 at his home in Crestview, Fla.

He was the son of Geneva and John Downey and was a graduate of Canton High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1974, retiring with the rank of Master Sgt. He served in Japan, Guam, Vietnam and at U.S. bases in Hunterfield AFB, Georgia, Whiteman AFB in Missouri, Fairchild AFB in Washington, Lockbourne AFB in Ohio and England AFB in Louisiana. After his retirement, he moved to Sapulpa where he was employed by Patty Precision and later as building inspector for the City of Sapulpa. He was also the commander of V.F.W. Post 1320 for 10 years. He moved to Florida in 1999.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil.

Jim is survived by his wife Judy, of the home in Florida; his children from his first marriage, sons Jim Jr. and wife April, of Austin, USAF Techinal Sgt. Ron Downey and wife Ginger, of Clearfield, Utah, Michael of Crane, Mo., daughters Catherine Taylor and husband, Steven, of Sapulpa and Janet Straley and husband Jerome, of Sapulpa; grandchildren Emily and Jack, Kevin, Kyle and Keith, Dustin and Lacy Taylor, Kaitlin and Tyler Straley and special companion Whiskers.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Taylor officiating. Services are under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Herbert Hoover Drake, age 72, of Morrilton, Ark. died Sunday, March 3, 2002. He was born April 3, 1929 in Kiefer, a son of Edward Lincoln Drake and Anna Ussery Drake.

Mr. Drake was a Korean War Air Force veteran, a sheet metal welder, a member of Local Unit No. 54 in Galveston, Texas and of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Shields Drake of Galveston, Texas; one son, Richard Allen King of Sapulpa; three stepsons and their wives, Ray and Dolly Whittington of Galveston, Allen and Ruth Whittington of York, England, James and Margaret Whittington of Mayflower, Ark.; one stepdaughter and her husband, Evelyn and Ken Henke of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; one brother and his wife, Bill and Bonnie Drake of Sapulpa; two sisters, Ida Mae Lair of Sapulpa and Betty Louise Cellan of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

AVA SCOTT (BANKS) DRISCOLL

Ava Scott (Banks) Driscoll, of Sapulpa, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at St. John Medical Center at the age of 70.

Ava was born April 4, 1933 to Conley and Luella (Faye) Banks in Kellyville.

She had attended Kellyville and Sapulpa schools and was the former co-owner of Scott's Tastee Freeze in Sapulpa for 35 years. She also was employed for Mid-America Savings and Loan and was a member of the Glenwood Assembly of God Church and the Beta Sigma Phi.

In 1950 she married Larry B. Scott at Fort Polk, La. He preceded her in death in 1989.

On Dec. 3, 1996 she married Roy A. Driscoll in Sapulpa.

Ava was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, one son, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are her husband Roy, of the home; three children and three stepchildren, Larry David Scott and his wife, Becky, of Neodesha, Kan., Nancy Kay White and her husband, Mike, of Vancouver, Wash., Pamela Marie Newport, of Tulsa, Sharon Mitchell, of Broken Arrow, Roy G. Driscoll, of Dallas, and Susan Boaz, of Ottawa, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Alfred "Slim" Banks, of Sapulpa, and two sisters, Beatrice Lowrey and Mary Lou Stroup, both of Sapulpa.

Funeral services for Ava have been set for 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 in the Glenwood Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Rick McElannon officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bixby Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

James Frank Driscoll

James Frank Driscoll was born on Nov. 16, 1928 and died on May 3, 2003.

He was born east of Mounds in the Euchee Creek area. His home has been in the Mounds-Kiefer area all of his life. He worked out of state as a truck driver some of the time but always maintained his home here.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home; stepchildren Joann and Ernest Schulze, of Chelsea, Joyce and Roy Roberts, of Chelsea, and Jerry and Donna Reale, of Tulsa; brothers Clarence and Roy Driscoll, of Sapulpa; five grandsons and one granddaughter, three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Jennie Driscoll.

Frank was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 79, of Sapulpa.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at the Duck Creek Church east of Mounds. The Mounds Senior Citizens Center will serve lunch at the church before the services.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be sent to the Mounds Senior Citizens Center.

SAPULPA WOMAN, OSAGE MAN ARE KILLED IN SEPERATE CRASHES

A Sapulpa woman died Saturday in a Creek County crash, while an Osage man died in a rollover near Cleveland.

Jane Ann Duca, 49, died at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after the 1999 Honda Accord she was riding in crashed into a culvert north of West 141st Street on Oklahoma 66, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The car's driver, Adam Louis Garcia, 20, also of Sapulpa, was hospitalized at St. Francis Hospital, troopers said.

Troopers said that drug use may have played a role in the crash.

Earlier Saturday, Stephen Wayne Sills, 56, of Osage was thrown from the 1990 Toyota SUV he was driving after it ran off a county road about eight miles east of Cleveland, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Sills was pronounced dead at the scene.

ROBERT CARL "BOB" DUCKERT

Robert Duckert

Robert (Bob) Carl Duckert, 78, was born January 16, 1924 at Sapulpa to Edward H. and Cora Duckert, who preceded him in death.

He died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the Claremore Veterans Center.

He attended Sapulpa Public Schools all 12 years and graduated in 1942, where he excelled in high school athletics.

He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942, served in the South Pacific and was discharged in January 1946. He joined the Sapulpa City Police Department soon after returning from service.

He continued to work as a Sapulpa officer until July 1950, when he joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

His first assignment was in Jay later moving into Tulsa District 9, where he proudly served until he resigned in January 1959 to join Sheriff Dave Faulkner's staff at the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

Mr. Duckert worked through the ranks, retiring in 1986 as Chief Criminal Deputy.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Edward and Douglas Duckert and two infant daughters from a previous marriage.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Helen (Engel) Duckert of the home in Jenks, a son, Robert M. (Bobby) of Tulsa; and a daughter, Pamela of Lawrenceville, Ga.; one sister, Barbara Contardi of Stillwater; one brother, Kenneth Duckert of Sapulpa; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wedensday, June 5, 2002 in the Jenks United Methodist Church.

Entombment will follow in the Green Hill Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 6465 S. Yale Suite 206, Tulsa, OK 74136.

The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to Trinity Hospice and the staff of Oklahoma Veterans Center, Claremore, for their loving and compassionate care of our loved one.

Ludy V. Duedley, of Kiefer, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home at the age of 92 years, six months and 26 days.

Mrs. Dudley was born on Feb. 10, 1911 in Hot Springs, Ark. and had lived in Kiefer for the past 31 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church in Tulsa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Novey Oliver Dudley, on Feb. 26, 1999.

Survivors are one daughter, Dorothy Chandler, of Sapulpa; three sons: Autrey Dudley, of Little Rock, Ark., Bobby Dudley, of Texas; and Larry Dudley of Denham Springs, La.; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Anna Claire Stiles Dunbar

Anna Claire Stiles Dunbar was one of seven children born to George and Myrtle Reid Stiles, on Oct. 5, 1913, in Missouri and left this earthly family for heaven on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004.

Anna had moved to the Sapulpa area as a young girl. After schooling, Anna married Hansel Dow Dunbar on July 4, 1931. Hansel preceded Anna in death in 1966. Anna was an outdoors person who enjoyed gardening and fishing, raising her children and watching her grandchildren grow. She is survived by one remaining sister, Belva Stanfield and her husband, Bill, of Tulsa. Anna and Hansel had three children. One daughter, Clara Ann Rawdon and her husband, Luther, both preceded Anna in death.

She is also survived by two sons, Jack Dow Dunbar and his wife Carol, of Sapulpa, and Michael Ray Dunbar and his wife, Sherry, of Wellington, Colo.

Surviving grandchildren are Barry Rawdon, Debra Carter and her husband Allen, Stacey Rawdon, Lacki Denise Woods and her husband Jimmy, all of Sapulpa, and Dow Michael Dunbar and his wife Cynthia, of Seattle, Wash.

Surviving great-grandchildren are Justin Carter, Jamie Carter, Heather Jo Rawdon, Michelle Leigh Rawdon, Christopher Fuller, Cody Fuller, Hunter James Woods and Rebecca Anne Woods, all of Sapulpa.

Surviving great-great-grandchildren are Grant Carter and Braden Carter, and many, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her grandson Jeremy Dow Dunbar and her great-granddaughters Jennifer Michelle Carter, Jessica Leighann Carter and Amanda Renee Woods.

Pallbearers are Danny McClanahan, Bruce Laughlin, Barry Lee Rawdon, Steve Stanfield, David Stanfield and Gordon Stanfield.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dunbar will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 in the Smith Funeral Chapel with Gilbert Green officiating.

Interment will follow in the Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Duncan passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 17, 1929, in Wister to Emmett and Jane Duncan.

Mr. Duncan married Ada Hardy on Aug. 31, 1952. He grew up in Wister, joined the United States Navy in December 1950 and served four years during the Korean War.

He attended Poteau Jr. College and Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant, graduating with a Masters Degree in Education. He was a school administrator at Calvin, Cement and Kiefer, also working in plant management at Glenpool schools, where he retired in 1988. He also served on the Oklahoma Secondary Activities Association Board of Directors. Mr. Duncan was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Calvin, and was a member of the Cement Methodist Church.

Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ada; two sons, Bruce Duncan and wife Kathy, Dennis Duncan and wife Lee Ann; daughter Threase Anderson and husband Larry; brother Harold Duncan and wife Jan of Poteau; and sister Modean Smith, also of Poteau. He is also survived by five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Duncan.

Survivors include her son, Mark Duncan of Sapulpa, daughters Mary Myers, Virginia Duryea, Barbara Duncan, Eleanor Durbin, Sharon Billings and Nancy Rose of Sapulpa and Helen Romero of Albuquerque, N.M. and a brother, Daniel McHughes of Sapulpa. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

DUNCAN -- William Warren (Bill), Sapulpa, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, in the presence of his wife and children. Bill was born June 1, 1930 in Barnsdall, OK to William Westberg and June Gulick Duncan. He attended school in Barnsdall and Duncan and graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1948. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of Explorer Post No. 1. He played in the band all through school and attended the University of Tulsa on a band scholarship. His education at TU was interrupted when he joined the U.S. Army and attended O.C.S. He served in the Corps of Engineers in Korea. After graduating from TU with a degree in Engineering, he worked in oil fields all over the world, mostly with Loffland Brothers Co., Nicor Drilling and Nabors Drilling. During his retirement he enjoyed building museum-quality models of sailing ships. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Diana Lois. He is survived by: his wife, Tommye; 5 sons and their families, Bill, Cindy and Billy of New Iberia, LA, and Tiffini of Sapulpa; David, Susan and Jake of Stillwater; Bobby, Lori, Niki, Jenny, Sami and Molly of Kellyville; Tom, LaVon and Lindsey of Stillwater; and Dan, Rebecca and Bailey of Tulsa. Bill had requested that his body be donated to Oklahomna State University School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12, at 2 p.m. at Ridgeway Baptist Church on Highway 97 between Sapulpa and Prattville. Friends are asked to contribute to the American Lung Association.

Deanna J. Sinor Dunn, of Kiefer, died Monday, March 7, 2005 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 45. Deanna was born June 8, 1959 in Sapulpa and had lived in this area all of her life.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had been a nurse's aide.

Mrs. Dyer is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren along with scores of other relatives and friends.

She passed away peacefully surrounded by members of her loving family on the first day of spring. She felt only love, not fear nor pain. We rejoice that she was greeted by her Lord and Savior as well as by the family and friends who preceded her to prepare her final resting place alongside them.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jacqueline will be remembered for her caring and generous heart. The fifth of nine children, she was born in Arley, Ala., to George and Ora Smith. As a child of the Depression, she learned to value hard work and love for family, displaying those values every day of her life as she cared for her family, and as she labored against her illness until she drew her final breath.

We, her family, wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the many friends who offered their love and support as well as to all the devoted physicians, nurses and staff of St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Kidney Fund.
