LONG -- Armilda Marguerite (Riser), was born March 14, 1926 to Julius and Bessie Riser and departed this life on Friday, December 12, 2003 at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 28 days. Armilda lived 18 years in Sapulpa, OK, graduating in 1944 and attended a business college in Tulsa. She got a job at Santa Fe Truck Lines, where she met John H. Long and married on January 26, 1952. They lived in West Tulsa until July, 1968 and moved to Tahlequah, OK until their deaths. Armilda was preceded in death by: her husband, John; son, Stephen Allen; and grandson, Jesse Patrick. She is survived by: daughter, Mary Jo Patrick of Tahlequah, son, John H. and Sue Long Jr. of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Freda Downing and Mabel Riser of Tulsa, OK; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Dulcie Lee Long, 80, went to be with her Lord Saturday. She was born Dec. 13, 1924 in London, Ark to David and Erma Reed. She married Delbert Long June 9, 1945.

Dulcie was retired from Frankoma Pottery. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and one of the founding members and always active in church activities. Dulcie spent much of her time helping and caring for other people in whatever capacity needed. She was a pink lady with Bartlett Hospital. She was a wonderful cook and made the world's best lemon cream pie. She also loved to read and garden.

Dulcie is survived by two children Jenny Gomoljok and her husband Richard, of Annapolis, Md. and Steven Long and his wife Kim, of Tulsa; four grandchildren Jason Asher, Justin Asher and his wife Shannon, David Long and Ginna Long; one great-grandchild Timothy Asher; sisters Hazel Ellis and her husband Calvin, of Sapulpa, and Joyce Telk, of California; and brother Bob Reed and his wife Jackie, of Houston.

Dulcie was preceded in death by her husband Delbert; parents David and Erma Reed; brothers Ray Reed, Les Reed, Scott Reed, J.N. Reed, and Bill Reed; and sisters Ruth Winchell and Beulah Parrish.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Faith Baptist Church. The family requests that donations be made to the St. John's Foundation/Hospice of St. John's, 1923 S. Utica, Tulsa, Okla. 74114.

Funeral services will be under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Paul Long, 67, of Sapulpa, died Sunday, July 24, 2005. He was born Feb. 22, 1938 at Pickett Prairie and lived in this area all of his life.

He was married to Norma Anderson. He was a graduate of Mounds High School and was retired from Flow Serv where he was a fork lift operator.

Long was a member at Pickett Chapel Indian United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy Long Sr. and Asa Behen Long; and son Kevin Long.

He is survived by his wife Norma Long, of the home; daughter Paula Mintx, of Georgia; brother Jerry Long, of Tahlequah; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2005 in the Pickett Chapel Indian United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Foote officiating.

Interment will follow in Long Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Jerry Dean Long, Mark Long, Chad Long, Keith Long, Richard Reeder and Buddy Price.

Honoary bearers will be Richard Davis and O.J. Jones.

Bobby R. Lowder

Bobby R. Lowder was born Nov. 14, 1930 in Olney, Texas to Lucy Lucille Trammell Young. He passed away at 10 a.m. Sept. 22, 2004 at home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 73 after an illness.

He attended Sand Springs Schools and then served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He retired from McDonnell Douglas after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Delia A. Lowder, of the home; three sons Bobby R. Lowder, Jr., Ralph Lynn Lowder and Michael D. Lowder and wife Kate; five daughters, Karen Lowder and fiance Rick Warnock, Suzanne Patterson and husband Cletus, Gwendolyn Lowder, Kimberly Carter and husband Bob, DeAnn Lowder Jones and husband Kenneth; sisters Barbara Morris and Doris Hill and nieces and nephews; grandchildren Patience, Chance, Ashley, Staci, Tommy, Ryan, Kyle, Julia, Frank Jr., Nathan, Katherine, Wade, Audra, Bridgette and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Mia Cheyenne, Hayden, Phoenix, Josephine and Javier.

She had been the vice president of personnel at Home Federal and was a homemaker.

Survivors are her children Jeffrey Bond, of Manassas, Va. and Linda Duck, of Tulsa; and four grandchildren Kasey, Grant, Vince and Jessica.

SAPULPA -- Bertie M. Lowrance, 79, died Sunday. Service 1 p.m. Friday, Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

LOWRANCE -- Bertie Marie Overton. Bertie was transported on Sunday, November 14, 2004 to her eternal home. Bertie was the only child born to Ruth Ann Roderick-Overton and W.J. "Bill" Overton in Sapulpa, OK on October 24, 1925. She graduated from Sapulpa High School and attended Tulsa Business College. She began her employment career for the Tulsa Board of Education. She eventually began working many years for Home Federal Savings & Loan and Sooner Federal Savings & Loan. Shortly after her promotion to Executive Vice President, she took early retirement in order to provide full-time care to her ill husband for the following 10 years. Bertie was preceded in transport by: her husband, James H. Lowrance in 1986; her father, Bill Overton in 1971; and her mother, Ruth Overton in 1995. Bertie is survived by: her daughter, Linda Duck of Tulsa; her son, Jeffrey Bond of Virginia; her grandchildren, Casey Duck-Garcia and Stephen Garcia of Arizona, Grant Duck of Texas and Jessica Bond of Illinois. Bertie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tulsa, where her great-grandfather, Abraham Carlin was the third preacher in 1903. It was often said Bertie had the strength of Goliath, but the faith of David. Indeed, she exemplified her strength and faith during her darkest and most sorrowful days. Bertie's humble expressions of inspiration, generosity, care, hope, faith and love touched the lives of multitudes. She never received any materialistic recognition of honors or accolades, but she would tell you she received countless and priceless gifts of blessings from her Heavenly Father each and every time she did a deed of kindness for another human being. Her outward beauty was breathtaking, but more important was her internal beauty. She was forever caring for and loving others, her relatives, friends, neighbors and even strangers. John Lucas

John Lucas, 68, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 4:10 p.m. at St. John's Hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Jay, Okla., to Clarence and Anna Lucas.

John is preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers Floyd, Jack, Junior and Thelis; sisters-in-law Norma and Judy; son David; and daughter Joanie.

He is survived by his children: Dan and Jann Lucas, of Tulsa, Doug and Bonnie Lucas, of Mesa, Ariz., and Darren and Pam Lucas, of Glenpool; grandchildren Brandi, Katie, Brittany, Ashley, Aimee, Christopher and Emma Lee; sister Maxine Grainger; brother Don Lucas; sisters-in-law Opal Lucas, Genevieve Lucas and Betty Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.

John grew up in the Kellyville/Sapulpa area and graduated from Kellyville High School in 1953. He played the bass guitar in various bands and remained friends with band members for the balance of his life. He was active in sports in his younger years playing softball, and an avid fisherman throughout life who enjoyed fishing with his grandkids the most.

John fought a brave battle with cancer with dignity and humor. He gladly accepted his illness, saying that he'd rather it be he than any of his children or grandchildren. He was cared for in Dan and Darren's homes and was always with loved ones since April 20, 2003. It was an honor and privilege for both families as they had six weeks of quality family time together.

The Lucas family would like to give a special thank you to Linda York, the nurse at Healthback of Tulsa; Cindy Ortiz, Dr. Brunk and Libby Campos at Cancer Treatment Centers of America; Dr. Jack Halsey, Joanne Neffendorf and Gloria Shook at Halsey Chiropractic Care; Kerri Ellis and Dr. Kenneth Kerns at Clinico; and the nurses, Mary, Christie, and Janice at St. John's Hospital, who are exceptional and caring people. They meet his medical needs and enjoyed his positive attitude and humorous ancedotes.

John was a loving father (dear ol' dad), grandfather (papa John) and dear friend, who valued time with his family and very dear friends until the very end as he peacefully faded away. Many will miss him and many will have been blessed for having known him.

Services will be held Friday, June 6, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Green Hill funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Green Hill Funeral Home.

BEULAH MARIE BRANNON LYNCH

Beulah Marie Brannon Lynch

Beulah Marie Brannon Lynch was born Feb. 2, 1914 in Hominy to John and Frances (Ferguson) Brannon. As a young child Beulah grew up in Hominy and in her teenage years moved to Claremore where she graduated from high school.

On Dec. 23, 1935, she was united in marriage to J.D. Lynch in Tulsa. They made their home in Wetumka. They later moved to Odessa, Texas and soon to Segraves, Texas. In the early 1940s, Beulah and J.D. moved to the Hartshorne area. While living in Hartshorne, Beulah returned to school and obtained her certificate as a licensed practical nurse. After she received her certificate she worked in several different places including Hartshorne, Claremore and Sapulpa.

In the 1960s, Beulah and J.D. moved to the Tulsa area where she has lived ever since. Beulah was a wonderful seamstress and cook. She always loved to cook and sew for her children, grandchildren and nieces that she adored so much.

Beulah passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at the age of 90 years, seven months and 23 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Judy Lynch Barker in May of 2003; three sisters Ethel Atkinson, Bonnie Foster and Jewell Blue; three brothers John Brannon, Dee Brannon and Arthur Brannon as well as a great-grandson Kole Machan in 2003.

She is survived by her children Janice and her husband John Carletti, of Sapulpa, Louise Giannini, of Stockton, Calif., Sandi Wheeler, of Springdale, Ark., John and his wife Carolyn Lynch, of Broken Arrow, and David Lynch, of Tulsa; 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will also be at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc.

The family will be gathering at the niece's home in Hominy prior to the funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested the donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Beulah Brannon Lynch.

He is survived by: his wife, Laura; children, Kenneth, Jamie, Kathryn, Sandra, Amanda, and Ryan; grandchildren, Tristan, Garret, Paige, Kylee, Sarah and Bobby; 3 sisters; mother; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The last few years he enjoyed traveling, gardening and riding his four-wheeler with his grandkids. He will be eternally loved and missed. Service 2 p.m. Sudany, July 24, at Butler-Stumpff.

IDA ESTELL LYONS

Ida Estell Lyons, 87, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 16, 1916 in Antlers.

She was a graduate of Antlers High School and married Sammie Lyons on March 23, 1937 in Hugo.

She has been a Sapulpa resident since 1942. She was a member of the Church of Christ at the corner of Lee and Walnut Streets.

Survivors are her husband, Sammie, of the home, and son, Lee and wife, Ann Lyons, of Tulsa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 in the Mounds Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Harold Lytle

Harold Lytle, 65, of Sapulpa, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at St. John Sapulpa Continuous Care.

Mr. Lytle was born July 12, 1937 in Sapulpa and had lived here all of his life. He had worked for Riley Southwest and attended North Heights Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors are his children, Harold Ray Lytle, of Sapulpa, Evelyn Marlene Lytle, of Sapulpa, and Clifford Leon Lytle, of Sapulpa; grandchildren Travis and Casey Lytle; brother Earl Lytle of Sapulpa; and sisters Helen Coker, of Sapulpa, and Barbara Jean Jackson, of Georgia.

Funeral services for Mr. Lytle have been set for 2 p.m. Friday in the North Heights Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Hardage officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery near Kellyville.

Serving as casketbearers willbe Billy Gilbert, Raymond Gilbert, Bob Charles, Owen Perkins, James Coker and Kelly Coker. Honorary bearers will be Leroy Gilbert and Bill Gilbert.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will headquarter at 630 S. Hiawatha.
