GERALD ARDELL SHEERMAN

Gerald Ardell Sheerman, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 in Tulsa after losing his fight with Lymphoma. He was born and raised in Holliday, Mo. During WWII, he served as a Corpsman in the United States Navy. He received an honorable discharge in 1945. He bacame a correctional officer for the Federal Prison Service in Springfield, MO and Lompoc, CA, until his retirement. He has been a resident of Sapulpa for the past 24 years, enjoying country living and his hobbies of gardening, cars, sports and listening to big band music.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Sheila Sheerman; his Granddaughter Monica Sheerman; his mother Mary Blades Jackson, of Holliday, MO; and his brother Wendell B. Sheerman, of Fountain Hills, Ariz.

He is survived by his wife Martha E. Sheerman, of Sapulpa; and his four children, Geraldine Billings of Tulsa; Richard Sheerman and his wife Linda, of Imperial Beach, Calif.; Marilyn Ward of Corsicana, TX; Don Sheerman of Owasso; and his three step-children, Martha Robinson and her husband Mike, of Coronado, Calif.; John Murchison, of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Jane Damron of Imperial Beach, Calif. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. at the committal center at Green Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charlie Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the garden of honor at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family has chosen to entrust the care of the service to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
