Ruth and Glen Jarvis will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Oct. 7, with open house at their home, 604 S. Oklahoma. Reception hours will be 1 to 8 p.m.
Hostesses will be the couple's daughter, Mrs. Helen Lane, their granddaughter, Mrs. Judy Sauer, and a longtime friend, Mrs. Mary Kohler.
Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis were married Oct. 19, 1929 at Beggs. They lived in the Beggs area for 20 years before moving to Okmulgee for two years. They spent 17 years in Tulsa and moved to Sapulpa 11 years ago.
Following their move to Sapulpa, Jarvis was employed in the maintenance department at Bartlett Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 1974.
They have one daughter, Mrs. Helen Lane, Mantica, Cal., six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
All long time friends and acquaintances are invited to come and share old memories with Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis.
