Harlan and Frances Hughes of Sapulpa will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Central Tech center, 1720 S. Main.
Harlan Lee Hughes and Frances Padgett were united in marriage Nov. 9, 1956, at the Free Holiness Church in Sand Springs. They have lived in the Sapulpa area for 43 years.
Harlan was a partner in Hughes and Yocham Construction until the early 1980s and has since operated H.L. Hughes Construction.
Frances is a housewife and partner in their business.
The couple has four children: Cheryl Elaine Hughes of Houston, Texas, David Hughes and wife Sherry, Delbert Hughes and Joy Spurlock and husband Tim, all of Sapulpa.
Their grandchildren are Natasha Spurlock of Plano, Texas; Stephanie Spurlock Burton and husband Brian of Tulsa, Lucas Hughes and Stacy Hughes of Sapulpa.
The children and grandchildren also honored them with an Alaskan cruise and land tour this summer.
No gifts are requested, but cards and memories are welcome.
