Mary Margaret Woodruff May and Henry L. May, Jr. were honored at the celebration of their 65th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married April 4, 1941 at Sapulpa First Methodist Church that was located at the corner of Lee and Walnut Streets.
Both are graduates of Sapulpa High School and were employed at American National Bank at the time of their wedding.
Mary Margaret became a stay-at-home mom when their first child was born. Hank established Hank May Hardware in 1945, from which he retired in 1998.
The family party was hosted by their daughter, Margaret Ann Fuller, and son, Bill Henry May, at Camp Okewana, west of Sapulpa.
The couple has three grandchildren, Terriann VanDeventer, of Tulsa, and twin grandsons, Mark and Mike May, of Austin, Tex. They also have eight great-grandchildren.
