The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. L.S. Matts, Drumright, will be celebrated Oct. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Drumright Community Center.
Hosting the affair will be their children and their families. They are Dale M. Matts, Benicia, Cal.; Patricia J. (Mrs. Jack) Holt, Sapulpa; Leland L. Matts, Tulsa; Linda (Mrs. Jerry) Creel, Edmond and L. Dean Matts, Edmond.
The couple has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
They were married at Drumright, Oct. 6, 1929 and have lived there since. He was owner and operator of Matts Oilfield Construction Co., and she owned and operated Ruth's Beauty Shop. Both are now retired, but they continue to be active in the First Baptist church at Drumright.
