In celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Buckner, their nieces and nephews are inviting friends and relatives to a reception on Sunday, May 20, 2 to 4 p.m. It will be held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Tifft, 813 N. Hodge.
Marjorie Martin and Willard Allen Buckner were married May 25, 1929 at First Baptist church in Sapulpa, with the late rev. P.J. Conkwright reading the vows at 12 o'clock noon. Thelma Ruth, who witnessed the wedding in the pastor's study, plans to be on hand for their 50th anniversary celebration.
The couple honeymooned in an apartment at the corner of Park and Bryan. They lived for many years on North Ross St., before moving to their present home at 111 W. Gordon.
Mrs. Buckner is retired from Liberty Glass Co. and Buckner from Bagwell Steel. He is a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Sapulpa Lodge No. 170. They are members of Naomi Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Amaranth Court, Rebekah Lodge, Okie Kamper Club and First Baptist church. Mrs. Buckner belongs to Progressive Extension Homemakers.
