MOUNDS - US 75 ALT

Established on the Frisco RR in 1898, this farming community took its name from nearby geographical features. It experienced a boom during the development of the Glenn Pool oil field and then settled back into its quiet rural ways.

MOUNDS. Formerly Posey. In southeastern Creek County. Present site is west of original post office location. Name changed to Mounds, April 19, 1898. Took its name from prominent mound feature along Duck Creek, west of the townsite.
