C. W. COLBERG

"HURT BY TRAIN"

From "The Mannford Eagle, Silver Edition, Mannford, Oklahoma, May 27, 1987 (Reprinted from The Mannford Herald, October 6, 1911)

Thursday noon while standing on the platform at the Mannford depot, C. W. Colberg was pretty badly hurt by a freight truck being shoved over him. He was standing near the track for the purpose of mailing a letter and the train had not entirely stopped. A bar of iron which had become loosened at one end and was extending outward from the coach struck the freight trucks, shoving them over him, brusising him considerably and crushing the bones in one ankle.
