ROBERT ELMER "BOB" HAYS

Robert Elmer Hays entered this world on November 23, 1924 to the proud parents of Elmer and Bessie Hays.

He completed his school years in the Cyclone and Smithparts, Pennsylvania area. After graduation, Bob enlisted in the Army. Bob served 3 years in the service, with 1 1/2 years spent overseas.

When Bob returned home, he got a job with Tidewater Oil Co. in Cyclone, PA in 1946. At that time, the company had its own pulling units and Bob worked in the gang for 6 years and worked as a tractor driver for eight years. Bob became a foreman in 1960. At this time, Bob decided to go to night school. He completed Engineering Tech courses in two years at Penn State University Extention.

In 1962, Bob was transfered to the Drumright area for 3 months and then on to the Muskogee area. Bob and Harold Gullet completed the waterflood program which took about 8 years. At this time, Bob returned to Drumright where he has completed 40 years of service.

Bob and Gerri Anderson were married August 6, 1947. They have 5 children: Robert Carl, Vicki Marie, Bonnie Louise, Donna Jean, Joseph Patrick.

While Bob was in Muskogee, the four oldest children completed their education and married. Bob and Gerri have 10 grandchildren from these marriages.

The Hays' plan to retire in Arrowhead Estates in Muskogee where they have a mobile home and a great golf course nearby.
