Everett Reed, who moved here from Fort Smith, Arkansas, began woodcarving and construction of old-time vehicles and detailed accessories in the early '60s as a hobby.

Reed, 85, brought a variety of his works and displayed them Tuesday, February 10 at the Community Center.

In his display were horse-drawn wagons, a stage coach with a tiny double-barrel shotgun on the seat, a surrey with a fringe on top, a top buggy and horse, along with farm equipment such as rakes, plows and cultivators, animals and several wood carved pictures. There were also several trunks equipped with tiny locks and some carry-alls.

Reed, a retired employee of Harding Glass, exhibited in KTES at Conway, Arkansas in 1970, his town of origin. He exhibited last year at the Art Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas for a month, and has also been displayed on Channel 24 by Polly Cruse, Art Director at the Art Center in Fort Smith.
