From "The Mannford Eagle," Mannford, Oklahoma, June 25, 1986

George R. and Ollie Shook celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception June 1 at Calvary Heights Assembly of God, hosted by Nona Goad and Mrs. Faye Osterhout.

The couple met in 1945 in Mannford where Mrs. Shook, the former Ollie Osterhout, was born and had lived all her life. They were married in Sand Springs Methodist parsonage on May 29, 1946. They lived in Tulsa for several years.

Mr. Shook was a pipefitter and he retired from Local 205 in 1975. He is also a member of the DAV and POW organizations. Mr. and Mrs. Shook now make their home in Sand Springs.

The fellowship hall was decorated with the traditional red and white colors. The refreshment table was covered with white net and trimmed with red bows and streamers. The white wedding cake was accented with red roses topped with a red "40." The centerpiece was red roses with white baby's breath.

Among the many friends and relatives who helped the couple celebrate their anniversary were Mrs. Shook's three brothers and two sisters, Robert, Donald and Ernest Osterhout, and Nona Goad and Evelyn Shook. Also eight nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews attended the affair.

Refreshments were served to approximately 60 guests who came to honor the couple.
