TIMMY RAY AND REBECCA JEAN BREWER SMITH

"COUPLE ARE WED IN WAY PARK"

From the "News Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, July 31, 1985

Timmy Ray Smith and Rebecca Jean Brewer were united in marriage on July 13, 1985 in a beautiful double ring ceremony in Way Park. The ceremony was held on the east steps of the park. The couple exchanged vows at 7:00 p.m. with the evening sun filtering through the trees.

The groom wore a gray tuxedo with tails and a blue ruffled shirt. Kevin Smith, best man and brother of the groom, also wore a grey tuxedo with a pink shirt. The groomsmen all wore grey tuxedos, but each wore a different pastel colored shirt. Dale Stice, cousin of the groom, wore a tux with lavender shirt, while Wayne Stone wore a tux with a yellow shirt. Jim Duran wore a tux with a green shirt. Each wore a coordinating boutonniere.

The bride wore a lovely dress of blue broadcloth with white net overlay accented with wide, white lace about the V neck and scalloped white lace around the waist and hem. She also wore a white hat decorated with blue flowers, baby's breath and blue and white lace. Rebecca carried a bouquet of blue and white flowers intermingled with baby's breath and blue ribbons.

Susan Pickering, the maid of honor, wore a pink peasant styled dress and carried a bouquet of pastel flowers. The bridesmaids wore the same style dresses, each a different pastel color and each girl carried a multi-colored pastel bouquet. Melissa Matherly, sister-in-law of the bride, wore a lavender dress. Alicia Tate wore a yellow dress and Dani Dean wore a dress of green.

Kristi Towell, flower girl, was adorned in a white ruffled dress with tiny blue flowers and carried a white wicker basket trimmed with blue bows.

Daniel Brewer, son of the bride and ring bearer, wore a beige three piece suit and carried a white lace pillow.

Sondra Smith, sister of the groom, attended the guestbook and Ricky Matherly, brother of the bride, acted as usher.

The songs "Just You and I" and "Endless Love" were sang by Rodney Speck and Susane Starnes, who accompanied the duo on the guitar.

The tiered wedding cake was decorated with roses, sweet peas, and swirls of blue, pink, yellow, and lavender. It was topped with a large white bell surrounded by blue flowers and backed by a heart with two dangling gold rings. The groom's cake was decorated like a Ford pick-up and was complete with tiny pop cans tied behind. A reluctant groom ornament stood by the driver's side door.

Mr. and Mrs. Timmy Ray Smith left the reception, held at the Nazarene Church annex, for a honeymoon in Branson, Missouri.
