MILDRED PEARL ECKERT
From the "News Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, July 3, 1985

Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 17, 1985 at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing for Mildred Pearl Mowen Eckert. Mrs. Eckert died June 24, 1985 at the Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville.

Mrs. Eckert was born August 26, 1904 in Allen County, Lima, Ohio. Mildred moved to Oklahoma in 1926 and was married to Emil Charlie Eckert on September 18, 1926 at Drumright, Oklahoma. She had lived in the Drumright - Cushing area for fifty years before moving to Dewey, Oklahoma a few years ago. Mildred was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Her husband and two sons preceded her in death. Emil Charlie Eckert died June 3, 1929. Calvin Eckert died January 12, 1929 and Darrell E. Eckert died November 7, 1978.

Surviving is one son, Donald Eckert, Dewey, Oklahoma, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rev. John Deller of the First United Methodist Church in Cushing, Oklahoma, officiated at the services with the arrangements under the direction of the Don Smith Funeral Home, Drumright.

LILA HAZEL EISEMAN
From the "News Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, August 5, 1987

Lila Hazel Eiseman, 70, died August 4, 1987 at the Colonial Plaza Nursing Home in Cushing, Ok.

Hazel was born August 1, 1917 in Kings Port, Tenn. She married Lloyd Eiseman February 11, 1962 in Norwalk, Ca.

She had worked as a policewoman in California before moving to Drumright in 1969. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Drumright.

Survivors include her husband Lloyd of the home; one son, Michael Eiseman of Drumright; and one sister, Laura Mae Jackson of Kings Port, Tenn.; also one grandson.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 6, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bailes Funeral Home Chapel with funeral arrangements under the direction of Bailes Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eiseman's body will be donated to Medical Science.

MINERVA ELIAS
From the "News Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, May 7, 1986

Minerva Elias, 228 E. Second, Drumright, died at the Drumright Memorial Hospital, April 22, 1986, at the age of 83. She was born May 24, 1902, in Lebanon and came to America in 1916.

She was the widow of Charles Elias, who died on November 4, 1973.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was active in the Alter Society.

Survivors include a brother Kahlee Beshara and sister Abhlua Beshara both of Lebanon and two nephews.

Rosary was held at 7 p.m. on April 24 at St. Mary's and mass was at 10:30 a.m. April 25, also at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Tam Nguyen officiating.

Pallbearers were Bobby and Danny Beshara, Foad and Edmond Slyman, Joe Naifeh, and John Hesson.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa, under the direction of the Bailes Funeral Home.

JOHN C. ELLENBURG
From "The Mannford Eagle," Mannford, Oklahoma, May 11, 1988


A Saturday night crash, one mile west of Mannford, killed one and sent another to a Tulsa hospital, according to a Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesman. John C. Ellenburg, 46, of Terlton, was dead at the scene, and Mary Bolding, 64, of Adair, was taken to Hillcrest Hospital with multiple injuries and is listed in stable condition. According to OHP, Ellenburg was westbound when he turned into the path of Bolding and was hit on the passenger's side. Moments after the incident, Ellenburg's car caught fire and burned.

"ACCIDENT NEAR MANNFORD CLAIMS ONE LIFE"

John C. Ellenburg, age 46, of Terlton, OK, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which occurred Saturday, May 7, at 8:40 p.m., one mile east of Mannford at the Salt Creek turn off.

Ellenburg was traveling west bound on Hwy. 51 when he turned left into the path of a vehicle east bound. East bound vehicle was driven by Mary Bolding, age 64, of Adair, OK. Bolding was transported to Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa by ambulance.

COURTNEY DREW ELLIS
From "The Mannford Eagle," Mannford, Oklahoma, May 14, 1986

FORMER MANNFORD RESIDENT DROWNS

Courtney Drew Ellis, 24-year-old daughter of the late Ben Ellis of Mannford, drowned Sunday, May 11, while swimming with friends in Lake Overholser near Oklahoma City.

Courtney lived in Mannford with her father and step-mother, Mercy, for three years, leaving here about four years ago. Her survivors are her mother, Danielle Rue Ellis, Oklahoma City, and one brother, Benson Cole Ellis.

Jack Elston died his funeral was held at Bristow funeral home he was buried in Tulsa cemetery. He was 76 and was president of the Farm Bureau for 20 years.

LULA PEARL ENDICOTT
From the "News Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, April 3, 1985

Mrs. Lula Pearl Endicott died Wednesday, March 27th, at the Yale Nursing Home, she was 99 years and 2 days old.

Mrs. Endicott was born Lula Pearl Clark, March 24, 1886 in Hayspring, Neb. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Schmoe, of Oilton; one son, Mr. Merl Endicott of Oilton; four grandchildren, Bill Endicott of Morganhill, Calif.; Roberta Lewis, of Sand Springs, Okla.; Sue Manning, of Okla. City; and Helen Browning of Oilton; also 9 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Mrs. Endicott was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Endicott who died in 1952, and her son, Robert Raymond Endicott, who died in 1966.

Funeral services were held March 29th at First Baptist Church of Oilton, under the direction of Pecks Funeral Home of Oilton.

PAUL IRVIN ENSLOW
From the "News Derrick Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, February 22, 1984

Paul Irvin Enslow, 81, of Los Angeles, California, died Wednesday, February 15, 1984, in a Lynnwood, California Hospital. Enslow was formerly of the Mannford area.

He was born on May 4, 1902 in Mannford, and was the son of James and Lydia Enslow. He was a retired Steel Worker.

He attended Mannford schools, moving from Mannford to Los Angeles in 1924.

Survivors include: one sister-in-law, Mary Wilson, Sapulpa; one niece, Mildred Frost, Seminole; and two nephews, Gene and Don Enslow, Pawhuska.

Graveside services for Mr. Enslow were conducted Monday afternoon, February 20, in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mannford, with Oscar Loveall officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

JAMES BENNETT ESTES SR.
From the "News Derrick Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, October 3, 1984

Funeral services for James Bennett Estes, 329 E. First, Drumright, were held September 21 in the First Baptist Church in Drumright. The Rev. George Brock officiated. Organ music was provided by Leota Fincher, singers were Jeff Hunter, Thelma Black and Elaine Rainwater.

Estes was born August 28, 1903, at Milsap, Texas, and died September 18 in the Drumright Memorial Hospital.

He was an engineer service pipeliner.

On November 30, 1929, he and the former Willie Anna Dulaney were married in Tomball, Texas. In 1940 they moved to Drumright from Mexia, Texas.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; son James Bennett Estes, Jr., of Purcell, Okla.; daughter Darlene Harrington of Lawton, Okla.; sister Mamie Clark of Palopinto, Texas; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pall bearers were Virgil Cooper, Bob McClain, Russel Rickner, Melvin Rainwater, Ray Shaw and Calude (Claude?) Morrow. Honorary pall bearers were Jim Blose, Willis Creekmore and Gene Lacy.

Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bailes Funeral Home.

MARVIN HENRY ESTES
From the "News Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, January 30, 1985

Services were held Saturday for Marvin Henry Estes. He was born in Terlton on January 18, 1904, to Art and Sylvia Estes. A native and life long resident of Pawnee County, Estes died January 23 at the age of 81 years.

Services were held in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Larson, pastor officiating. Burial was in the Jennings Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Elsie of the home in Jennings; three daughters Neoma Tarpley, Wynona Waugh, Tulsa and Coeta Isbell of Yale; step-son Bill Pritchett, Morrison; sister Estella Leyerle, Jennings; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

BARBARA EVANS
From the "News Derrick Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, September 12, 1984

Barbara L. Evans age 61 of Mannford died Saturday, September 8, in the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Evans was born on May 29, 1923, in Medford and was the daughter of Bernard and Blanch Coash Blubaugh. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Evans, Sr. on June 7, 1942, in Medford. She was affiliated with the Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband Robert L. Evans Sr., of the home; daughter Kathryn Ann Wilson, of Mannford; daughter-in-law Karen Evans of Mannford; son Bob J. Evans of Mannford; sister Bernadine Ditmore of Newkirk, OK; brothers Leon Blubaugh of Danville, KS, and Jack Blubaugh of Medford. Also, three grandchildren, Justin Evans, Andrea Wilson and Jacob Wilson.

Funeral mass for Evans was held Monday, September 10, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sand Springs with Father V.C. McGouldrick as the Celebrant.

Interment followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Mannford under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Chapel.

JAMES DAVID EVANS
From the "News Derrick Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, September 19, 1984

James David Evans, 58, of Sapulpa, died last Friday, September 14 in Tulsa.

Evans was born on April 18, 1926 in Mannford.

Survivors include a sister Eva Dean Perkins of Westminster, California and a brother Alfred Evans of Choctaw.

Services were held September 15, 1984 at 4:00 p.m. Interment followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
