Helen O'Bryant

Helen Geane O'Bryant born Nov. 8, 1926 in Oilton, to Carter and Mary Redmond died Feb. 23, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa at age 59. Helen is survived by her husband Willie O'Bryant of Oilton, one sister Mable Blevins of Fort Worth, TX.

Preceded her in death are her father, in 1940, and mother in 1980.

Funeral was Feb. 25, in the Oilton Freewill Baptist Church on Tuesday at 2 p.m. under the direction of Peck Funeral Home.

ORVIL B. O'KELLEY
From the "News Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, May 13, 1987

Orvil B. O'Kelley, former Mannford resident from 1970 to 1983 and employed by the school district here, died Friday, May 8, 1987, in his home in Cushing. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Hackler Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing with the Rev. James M. Franklin officiating. Interment was at Cushing Fairlawn Cemetery.

O'Kelley was born on Jan. 18, 1913 in Union, Arkansas to the late Benjamin and Maude (Beard) O'Kelley. In 1924, he and his family moved to Cushing where he completed his education.

Her was married to Dona Hudson Largent on Nov. 19, 1943. He was a truck driver employed by Bray Lines until he moved to Mannford in 1970. He then retired after 1983 and moved back to Cushing.

Survivors include his wife, Dona, of the home; a son, Norman Largent of Sand Springs, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Anita Largent Curry of Edmond (and formerly of Mannford). Also surviving is a brother, Mr. Otto O'Kelley of Cushing,; two sisters, Mrs. Buna Ray of Cushing and Mrs. Fern Peart of Wenatchie, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

ELEANOR OLIVER
From the "News Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, March 25, 1987

Mrs. Eleanor Oliver, age 65, of Rt. 1, Sapulpa passed away at the City of Faith Hospital Saturday March 21, 1987.

Eleanor Wright was born April 14, 1921 at Drumright. Her parents were the late Bert and Madeline Wright. She married Lee Oliver March 20, 1940 in Seminole, OK.

Survivors are her husband Lee of the home. Two sons, Chester Lee Oliver of Suriname, South America, David Lynn Oliver of Baytown, Tx., one daughter, Mrs. Linda Ann Cooper of Sapulpa and four grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Beams of Light Tabernacle in Tulsa Wednesday, March 25, 1987 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tommy Scott officiating.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, Ok. under the direction of Bailes Funeral Home.

CHARLES DEAN OSBON

Graveside services were held for Charles Dean Osbon, age 13, of Terlton, Oklahoma. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 1985 at Terlton Cemetery, under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Lakeside. Rev. Clifford Kenningham officiated.

Osbon was born on August 5, 1971 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed away on June 25, 1985 in Jennings, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Mayfair Baptist Church.

He is survived by his father, Lloyd Osbon, Jr. of Terlton; grandparents, Lloyd and Margaret Osbon of Tulsa and Walter Field; great grandmother, Sarah Adair of Stillwell.

MARILYN E. OSBON
From the "News Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, July 10, 1985

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, for Marilyn E. Osbon, age 36, of Terlton. Rev Clifford Keiningham officiated.

She was born on September 11, 1949 in Muskogee, Oklahoma and died on June 25, 1985 in Jennings, Oklahoma.

She was married to Lloyd Osbon, Jr. on October 21, 1967. She also was a member of the Mayfair Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Osbon of the home; father, Walter Field of Checota, Oklahoma and brother, Kelly Field of Ft. Worth Texas.

MARION MILLER OSBORN
From the "News Derrick Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, April 4, 1984

Former Oilton Chief of Police Marion Miller Osborn, 1210 S. Lewis, died Saturday, March 31, 1984, at the Stillwater Medical Center at 58.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Strode Chapel, with Dr. Thomas Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at the Oilton Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

He was born near Oilton, December 11, 1925, the son of John and Lottie Osborn, he attended schools there and on February 9, 1952, he married Mary A. Dressler in Stillwater.

The couple lived in Oilton until 1958. From 1958 until 1964, the Osborns lived in Ada. They moved to Stillwater in 1964. Osborn had also worked as an oil well shooter, television repairman and security guard.

He was predeceased by his parents and four brothers, Marion Francis, John Elmer (Bud) Valentine Ralph and Simon Peter Osborn.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; two sons, Marion Bruce Osborn, Sayre, and John Oren Osborn, Ft. Hood, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Myra Diane) Witt, Sayre, and Mrs. Michael (Marlene Gail) Jones, Altus Air Force Base; and 11 grandchildren.

LEWIS D. OWEN
From "The Mannford Eagle," Mannford, Oklahoma, December 5, 1985

Lewis D. Owen, 72, a retired pipefitter contractor and former resident of Old Mannford, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, in a Tulsa hospital. He was the father of Gordon Owen, who moved from Mannford about two months ago.

Funeral services willl be held at 10 a.m Friday, December 6, in the Keystone General Baptist Church of which he was a member. The Rev. Edward Zickefoose, pastor, will officiate.

Burial wil be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sand Springs, under direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Home.

Mr. Owen made his home in Fisher Bottom, Rt. 4, Sand Springs. He was born January 3, 1913 in Bixby, the grandson of the late Chauncey A. Owen, one of the founders of Tulsa and for whom Owen Park there was named. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local 205.

Survivors are his wife of the home, the former Jewell Trammell, whom he married October 19, 1937 in Okemah; one daughter, Jo Ellen Corbin of Oklahoma City; two sons, Gordon D. Owen of Sand Springs and Kenneth A. Owen of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Eva Ledbetter of Fresno, Calif., and two brothers, Jack Owen of Paso Robles, Calif., and Chauncey Owen of Sand Springs; five grandchildren and one great-granedchild.

Lewis Owen, age 72, passed away December 2, 1985 at 5:15 a.m. at Doctors Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. He was a resident of Sand Springs for the past 27 years, coming from the old Keystone area.

He was born in Bixby, Okla. on January 3, 1913 to Albert P. and Clare M. Layman Owen. He was married to Jewell Trammel on October 19, 1937 in Okemah, Okla., and was a retired pipe fitter contractor.

Mr. Owen was the grandson of the late Chauncey A. Owen, one of the founders of Tulsa, for which Owen Park was named.

Mr. Owen was a member of the General Baptist Church of Keystone.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jewell Owen; one daughter, Mrs. Jo Ellen Corkin of Oklahoma City; two sons, Gordon D. Owen of Sand Springs and Kenneth A. Owen of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Eva Ledbetter of Fresno, Calif.; two brothers, Mr. Jack Owen of Paso Robles, Calif.; and Mr. Chauncey Owen of Sand Springs, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Services were held Friday, December 6, 1985 at 10:00 AM at the Mobley-Dodson Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Zickefoose officiating. Interment was in Woodland Cemetery.

CLIFF OWENS
From the "News Journal," Drumright, Oklahoma, December 12, 1984

Cliff Owens, a longtime area resident, was killed in a truck accident Tuesday, December 4th near Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. He was there picking up a load to deliver to Fort Smith, Arkansas. Owens was on a bad curve, hit an icy spot on the road and went down an embankment. He was on the job for Jim Marrs Trucking of Drumright, where he had been employed for seven years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Cushing. Interment was in Lawson Cemetery in Yale.

He was born August 1, 1947, to John and Vivian Owens in Cushing. He was reared there and graduated from Cushing High School in 1965.

In 1966 he joined the U.S. Army and served one year, 1968, in Viet Nam. In January 1969 he was released from the Army and returned to this area.

For seven years he was employed by Jim Marrs Trucking Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter Tamara Owens of Hot Spring Valley, Arkansas; his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Owens, Sr. of Cushing; brothers Robert, Edwin and John Owens, Jr., all of Cushing and several aunts and uncles and a host of friends.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Cushing.

Preston Lenox Owens

Preston Lenox Owens, 61, of Jennings, passed away on Wednesday, February 5.

He attended Silver City Freewill Baptist Church.

He was a salesman for Georges, Inc. of Tulsa.

Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Christine, of the home; son Robert Owens, of the home; step-son Don Fisher, of Edmond; 2 grandchildren, Tamara and Kari; brothers Ralph and Paul of Tulsa; Arley of Owasso. Sisters Erma Krueger of Wichita, Kansas, and Grace Moats of Owasso.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday February 8, at Moores.

Interment was in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.
