ARTHUR PETROS ALSO WAS A RETIRED SUPERVISOR FOR THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE

Arthur Lee Petros, a retired U.S. Postal Service supervisor and World War II veteran, died Sunday. He was 91. Petros was born March 31, 1913, in Brighton, Ala., and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

He and about 50 other area WWII veterans watched the dedication of the National World War II Memorial on big-screen televisions in Tulsa's Veterans Park in May.

Petros was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association, the Family Campers and RVers club, the Good Sam Club, the National Associaton of Retired Federal Employees, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Jenks Masonic Lodge. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Petros and his wife traveled extensively and were named king and queen of the NCHA retirees in 1975.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Petros; a daughter, Connie Smith of Tulsa; a son, Arthur Lee Petros Jr. of Missouri City, Texas; a stepmother, Angela Petros of Tulsa; a sister, Maybell "Rocky" Cook of Tulsa; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
