Mrs. Bacon died Feb. 23, 2004. She was born on May 8, 1938 in Grand Haven, Mich., to Russell and Emma Houck.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis, of the home; daughters, Terri Lynn Gaumer of Kansas City, Kan., Lori Lewis of Joplin, Mo., Gayle Gwen Stewart of Sapulpa, and Connie Myers of Sapulpa; sons, Randy VanHuis of Vista, Calif., Rob VanHuis of Glenpool, Terry VanHuis of Glenpool, Scott VanHuis of Mounds, and Danny Bacon of Kiefer; one sister, Priscilla Omeck of Wheaton, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

BAEHLER - Cole Garrett, beautiful, loving son, grandchild, nephew, cousin and friend joined the Lord on May 30, 2003. Born March 16, 1988 to Kitty and Garry Baehler. Graduate of Jenks Freshman Academy. His beautiful hazel eyes, enthusiasm for learning, joy of life and radiating smile will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched. Cole was a voracious reader and had immersed himself in learning the Russian language as well as skateboarding, and spending time with his dearest cousins, Boone and Abbey Reynolds. BAKER -- Bill F., 71, was born August 10, 1933 in Leonard, OK to Paul and Mattie (Graham) Baker. He passed away November 28, 2004 at his home in Bixby. Bill had lived in the Leonard and Bixby communities virtually all of his life. He was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army and the National Guard. He retired after 43 years with the John Zink Company. He was a devoted member of the Bixby First United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities. He was an avid sports fan and participated in stock car racing as a member of the pit crew for Emmit Hahn, and he loved being involved with the John Zink Indy 500 racing team for many years. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Baker; 2 sons, Bruce and wife, Rexana and Clint and wife, Arlene; and 2 grandchildren, Harley and Brianna, all of Bixby. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation. Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bixby First United Methodist Church. BARANOFF -- Elizabeth "Betty" Steele, 89, died on Monday, May 19, 2003 in Boulder, CO where she had made her home since 1979. Born September 20, 1913 in Jenks, OK, the daughter of Melvin A. and Anna (Loomis) Steele. Graduated from OSU with a Bachelor's degree and earned her Master's in Education from TU. After graduating from OSU she went to New York City to pursue her dream of acting. She played the part of Wendy in "Peter Pan," the ballerina in "Toby Tyler" and toured the country as Ethel Barrymore's grandson in "White Oaks." She had her own radio program in New York, "Midday Reverie," for which she wrote and read her own material. She toured New England with a children's theater company where she organized and directed plays with local children throughout the Northeast. She worked in the office of Rudolph Lesch Fine Arts Company in New York City and then as a Secretary with Phillips Petroleum in Tulsa. She then began a successful career as an English Teacher, first at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School and then at Will Rogers High School. She developed an expertise in the teaching of reading and introduced two innovative English clases. She taught a film making class to help students create stories through film and also developed a "Rock Literature" class, teaching students the poetry of Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton. While at OSU, she was a member of the Mortarboard, Panhellenic Council and Kappa Alpha Theta Social Sorority. She was a member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church and the UMW, where she served as the District Chair of Christian Social Concerns after she moved to Colorado. She married Nicholas Baranoff, a native of Russia, October 5, 1938 in New York City. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980 and her daughter, Anna Victoria in 1950. Survivors: daughter, Helena B. "Lenna" Kottke and her husband, Jon; grandchildren, Christopher and Larisa, all of Boulder, CO. Graveside services were held for Anna Pearl Barbee, 87, on April 8, 1996, at Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Keith L. Barbee.
Interment was under the direction of Jack Selby, Bixby Funeral Service.
Mrs. Barbee was born Nov. 24, 1908, at Guthrie. She was the daughter of Benjamin F. Keigley and Stella A. Dawson Keigley. She died at Doctors Hospital, April 5, 1996.
She married Benjamin F. Barbee on Dec. 14, 1925.
They had lived in several cities before they retired and settled in Ponca City in 1968. She moved to Alva in April of 1995 before moving to Jenks in January to be close to her son.
Mr. Barbee had been employed by Phillips.
Mrs. Barbee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Benjamin in 1989 and her daughter Violet. She is survived by her son Kenneth L. Barbee and his wife Donna of Bixby; two grandchildren, Rev. Keith L. Barbee of Alva and Kathy Linsenbardt of St. Louis; and four great grandchildren.

Ada Elizabeth Gill Barnes
Services for Ada Elizabeth Gill Barnes, 99, Jenks, were 10 a.m. Monday, June 14 in the Ninde Garden Chapel with Rev. Rick L. Frie officiating.
Burial was a noon at the Okmulgee City Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was born Aug. 8, 1904 in Indian Territory, the daughter of George Luther and Anna Elizabeth Cahill Gill. She died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
She married Charles Monroe Barnes who preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1996. They made their home in Jenks for many years where they were members of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Elaine Plummer of Jenks, two grandchildren, one great grandchild and two great-great grandchildren.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Jenks, Nehemiah Project, 205 E. "A" Street, Jenks, OK 74037.

Funeral services for Meridith Dawn Barnes, 14, of Glenpool were held Wednesday, March 9, at First Baptist Church of Jenks. Interment was held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jenks, Jenks 8th and 9th grade band, Thespians, and the track team.
She is survived by her mother, Lydia Barnes of Glenpool; and a grandmother, Juanita Barnes of Silom Springs, AR.
Services and interment were under the direction orf Ninde Colonial Chapel.
Phillis Lucille Barnes
-- Phyllis Lucille Barnes was born Sept. 25, 1919 in Glenpool, to Newton Albert Barnes and Cora Francis Goss Barnes. Newton was born in Jariel, Texas in 1882 and Cora was born in 1886 in Christian County, Mo.
Lucille was the fourth child born to the family following Eula Serilda in 1904, Gene Edward in 1909 and Nellie Belle in 1912, who died at a young age. In 1924, Opal Lovell Barnes completed the family. Lucille attended schools in Glenpool and Jenks while growing up. She married Lee Ramsey in January 1940 and they settled down in the area.
In September 1941, Carolyn Lee Ramsey "Sugie" was born to the happy couple, but soon Lee left to serve in World War II. Sadly, just as the war was ending, Carolyn became very ill and passed away in July 1945. Lucille and Lee parted ways shortly thereafter. Lucille then married a childhood sweetheart, Charles Jones, however they also parted and Lucille left Oklahoma.
Lucille moved to California in the early 1950s and lived in San Diego and Los Angeles. In the late 1960s she met Victor Crouch, a career navy man and they were married and lived in Port Hueneme, Calif. In the early 1970s they retired and moved to Goldfield, Nev. and worked in local businesses, raised goats, birds and dogs and "staked a gold mine claim."
After Victor passed away, Lucille stayed in Goldfield and in the early 1990s suffered a vicious attack from some roaming neighborhood dogs that had not been fed for some time. Lucille was nearly killed and spent months in the hospital recovering. Due to the widespread public attention of the attacks, the Nevada legislature nearly passed a law making owners of dogs responsible for their actions, but it finally was defeated.
Lucille miraculously recovered and moved to Dolan Springs, Nev. and moved most of her "treasures" with her. David Williams was the lucky soul that helped to move most of it. The Williams boys have had the pleasure of moving Lucille a few times in their lives.
Lucille continued to raise her pet goats, doves, peacocks, pigeons, cats, dogs and a few "desert rats" in the area for several years. Lucille was loved by her neighbors and known for her generosity. She finally began to show her 85 years this last September and collapsed in ill health. She sold her property and animals to a Las Vegas investor and with the assistance of her family moved back to Sapulpa to reside at the Hickory Home until her passing.
Lucille is the last of her generation from the Barnes and Goss family. Lucille is survived by nephews Leonard E. Lee, of McKinney, Texas, James Albert Barnes, of Guymon, Jon Alan Barnes, of Carlsbad, N.M. and Jerome Dean Pearson, of Catoosa; nieces Marian Norma Williams, of Springfield, Mo., Wanda Sue Williams, of Redlands, Calif., Donna Jean Campbell, of Midland, Texas, Helen Joyce Sisk, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Joan Kaye Knight, of Tulsa, Jan Bryan, of Lawton, Judith Carol Parks, of Tulsa, Linda Carol Metcalf, of Tulsa, Sue Ann Keas, of Bixby and Kathy Lynn Sechrest, of Sapulpa; and more than 100 grand-nephews and nieces throughout the United States.
She was an enigmatic, one-of-a-kind individual with a fascinating, yet often tragic life. She will be long remembered by her family and friends with fondness and wonder at her independence, strength and fortitude. She will be missed.
Services were held at 11 a.m. today, Friday ,September 9, 2005 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Bixby City Cemetery.
The family chose to entrust the care of the service to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
WOODROW H. BARNES, 56, died of heart attack Wednesday, Jan. 7. He had been a resident of Oklahoma since 1913 and of Jenks for the past 20 years. He was active in the Odd Fellows Lodge and was past noble grand of the Jenks Lodge.
Funeral services were held in the Jenks First Baptist church, Saturday, Jan. 10, with interment in Bixby Cemetery.
Barnes had been employed at Home Federal Savings and Loan.
He is survived by the widow, Easter, of the home; one son, Roy Barnes of Jenks; two grandsons, Jessie and Eric Barnes of Jenks; one brother, Dave Barnes of Long Beach, Calif.; and four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Cecil of Seminole, Mrs. Etta Edwards of Long Beach, Mrs. Jewel Cosby of Barstow and Mrs. Bonnie Kirk of Stigler.
"Woodrow Barnes passed away Wednesday. The Barnes family have resided in Jenks and the area for several years. Mr. Barnes is survived by hs wife Easter, a son and two grandsons. Service was in the First Baptist church Saturday afternoon with burial in Bixby. May we join the family of the deceased in extending our deepest sympathy in the loss of their loved one."
BIXBY -- Owen Lee Barnett, 56, died Thursday. No services planned. Shurden, Henryetta.
Ralph Barnett, pioneer Jenks resident, died Sept. 4 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the brother of Mrs. C. A. Reinert of Jenks and Mrs. Pearl Harper of Tulsa.
Mr. Barnett was born in Kansas in 1896 but moved to Jenks with his parents in April of 1906. He was a member of the class of 1912 -- the first graduating class of the Jenks high school.
After completing his education at the Tulsa Business College, he was called to military service. He was with the A.E.F. for 18 months, participating in several major battles as a signal corpsman in the Second Division.
Upon his return home, he and his wife, the former Madge Aikman, moved to West Texas where he was employed in the oil industry.
Other survivors include the widow, two sons, George and Claud of McCamey, Texas, and a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Proctor, Artesia, New Mexico. Funeral services were held in McCamey, the family home for 22 years, followed by a military burial in Big Springs, Texas.

BARRETT -- Rosemarie, 77, of Tulsa, passed away Friday, April 12, 2002, after a lengthy illness. She was born July 1, 1924 in Tulsa to Vurl and Erma Bruton. She graduated from Webster High School, where the mural she painted with another student still can be viewed. She loved to paint, work in the flower garden, bird watch, listen to all kinds of music, fish, watch baseball and most of all be with her family. As a child she was a tomboy and loved to roller skate, and as an adult she learned to drive and play golf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwane Barrett. She is survived by: 2 daughters, Ginger and Ed Burr of Jenks, and Pennie and John Hatten of Jenks. She is also survived by: 2 brothers, Jack Bruton of Tulsa and Roy and Betty Bruton of Beggs. She had 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren that will miss her wit and spunky spirit. She taught us to play jacks and pick-up sticks, not to mention the numerous card games. BARTMANN -- Ted C., was born on April 24, 1945 in Dubuque, IA to Lewis S. and Dorothy M. (Konzen) Bartmann. He passed from this life on October 1, 2003 at his ranch in Beggs, OK at the age of 58. Ted had lived in the Tulsa area for the past 19 years after having moved from Iowa. Most of his years were spent as a successful real estate owner and speculator as well as an Author of 2 real estate related books. He was an accomplished Horse and Cattle Rancher as well as a highly regarded entrepreneur of many different businesses that he operated himself or helped others to begin. When he was not working he loved to play cards with his family, watch golf, reality television and action movies, support the O.U. football team and spend time with his 8 children and 4 grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Bartmann of Dubuque, IA; 5 sons, Mike and Bob Bartmann, both of Stillwater, OK, Louie, Billy and Steven Bartmann, all of Beggs; 3 daughters, Jennifer Ward of Haskell, Stacey Bartmann of Tulsa and Katie Bartmann of Beggs; 4 grandchildren, Jared, Alexis, Ryan and Aidan "Buster"; 4 sisters, Mary Lou Doore of Toledo, OH, Sandy Engelke of Bixby, Nancy Quinn of Dubuque, IA and Peggy Stahle of Las Vegas, NV; 2 brothers, Bill of Tulsa and Terry of Dubuque, IA; his special love, Debbie Bartmann; and several nieces, nephews; other relatives; and friends. A retired employee of John Zink Co., Raymond P. Basse, 73, died Thursday in a Tulsa hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Beloit, Kans., and came to Broken Arrow in 1915. He married Marie Katherine Andersen Aug. 19, 1923, in the First Lutheran church in Tulsa.
He was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran church of Broken Arrow in 1950, where he kept an active membership since that time.
He is survived by hiw widow, Marie, of the home at 233 W. Knoxville; three daughters, Mrs. Violet Martin, Mrs. Virginia Gaddy and Mrs. Edna Peters, all of Broken Arrow; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Basse of Broken Arrow, and two sisters, Miss Charlotte Basse of Pawhuska and Mrs. Violet Engel of Jenks.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Immanuel Lutheran church. Interment was in Park Grove cemetery under direction of the Marlin funeral home.

JONES -- Inez Bayouth, 85, passed away peacefully July 27, 2003. Inez was a longtime resident of Tulsa and 1 of 11 children. She was born March 8, 1918 to Solomon H. and Aliha Bayouth of Collinsville, OK. She owned and operated Jenks Variety Store in Jenks, OK in the late 1950's. Inez retired from Sun Oil Company where she worked for 21 years and was an active member of the Desk and Derrick Club. She was an active member and supporter of the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane Club. She was currently working at the Southeast Tag Agency. She generously supported many causes and found peace and purpose in life through her devout Love of God, commitment to family and willingness to help others. She will be truly missed by those who were blessed to know her. She was an active and founding member of St. Antony's Orthodox Christian Church and served on its Parish Council. Inez was a Dane of the Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch and was presented the Antiochion Orthodox Archdiocese Meritorious Service Award in 1990, by the Parish Council on behalf of Metropolitan Philip of North America. She is survived by her husband, Harlan Jones, and his 5 children, Ron, wife, Colleen, Leona, husband, Walter, Julie, Jackie, husband Denny and Jennifer; 5 brothers, Kay Bayouth of Collinsville, A.B. Services for Bobbie Gene Beach, 76, Holden, Mo., were Saturday, Aug. 25 at William Funeral Chapel, Holden, Mo. Rev. Wesley Freeman officiated.
Beach was born Saturday, Oct. 15, 1927 in Tulsa, the son of Willard Edward and Nancy Ellen Epps Beach. He died at his niece's home in Independence, Mo., on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004.
Mr. Beach graduated from Jenks High School in 1946 and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He retired in 1981 from General Motors Co. at the Leeds Plant in Kansas City, Mo., as a metal finisher and had been a farmer in Holden since 1954. He was a member of the United Autoworkers Union.
On Oct. 20, 1948 at Oak Grove Church in Wasola, Mo., he married Norma Lee Stewart. She survives at their home.
Also surviving are two brothers, Buford Beach, Tulsa and Bentley Beach, Jenks as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Beulah Lowry and three brothers, Bernie, Basil and Buell Beach.
Pallbearers included Tim Beach, Ed Day, Wayne Day, Roy Wyrick, Edward Goodwin and Scott McMullin.
Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery in Holden, Mo. under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.

Midgley was born April 5, 1911, at Marion, Ark., to Samuel Wesley and Ada (Cates) Beckham.
She graduated from Jenks High School in 1920 and attended Tulsa Business College. She was a member of Beaver Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Leo Beckham, of Jenks; and a sister, Juanita Bizzell, of Kilgore, Texas.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Floyd Midgley, in 1972.
Service for Carl C. Beeler, 66, was July 23 at Nick Reynolds Funeral Service Chapel in Collinsville. Chaplain Mike Shirley officiated.
Interment was in Bixby Cemetery under the direction of Nick Reynolds Funeral Service.
Beeler was born March 29, 1938 in Stigler, Okla., son of Labern and Julie Long Beeler. He died July 20, 2004 in Collinsville, Okla.
Carl was a graduate of Jenks High School where he was a member of the football team. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed fishing, camping and nurturing rosebushes.
Beeler served his country as a member of the Air Force, stationed in Japan and North Africa. He served in the Tulsa Air National Guard with a total service to the military of 33 years.
He worked for American Airlines and Tulair Beechcraft as an aircraft mechanic retiring in March of 2003.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, a son Steven and wife Jonna of Broken Arrow, a daughter Lori of Oklahoma City; his mother Julie Halstead and a sister, Betty Moyer, both of Jenks; a stepson Clint, a stepdaughter Mary of Collinsville; six grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother Bobby Beeler and grandparents Bill and Opal Beeler and John and Rebecca Long.
Funeral services for Mary Lois Beeler, 65, a long-time resident of Jenks, were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Beaver Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Beeler died on Sunday, June 7, 1998 at her home. She was born on Nov. 21, 1933 in Coalgate, Okla. to the late Truman and Addie (Bohannon) Ramey.
She was a member of Jenks Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include her husband Leamon; three sons, Danny, Donny and Darrell Beeler, all of Jenks; three brothers, Troy, Junior and Bob Ramey, all of Jenks; and six grandchildren, Ben, Zach, Ryan, Chase, Dallas and Lacy Beeler, all of Jenks.

Madge Bell was born Dec. 29, 1913 in Jenks. She was the daughter of William Riley Vanarsdel and Vernie Bolton Vanarsdel. Mrs. Bell died Friday, March 4, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Madge moved to Tulsa from Haskell and resided there most of her life. She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing.
Fred Bell and Madge Vanarsdel were united in marriage on Jan. 25, 1930, in Coweta, Okla. At the time of his death in March of 1990, they had been married 60 years.
She was a member of the Regular Baptist Church in Jenks and the Sunshine Ladies Group.
Madge was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Joe, Bob, Roy and Charlie; three sisters: Jane, Opal and Juanita; her husband; a daughter, Virginia; a son-in-law, Max, and a grandson, Tommy Gruver. She is survived by two daughters, Genevieve Gruver and husband Wallace and Betty Hayes and husband Troy; a brother, Bill Vanarsdel and wife Martha and one sister, Etta Mae Cash and husband Elmer, all of Jenks; also six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers for the service were David Palmer, Ricky Hayes, Gary Gruver, Randy Hayes, Tink Palmer and Roger Palmer. Honorary casket bearers were her great grandsons.

BELL -- Charles Fay, was born October 19, 1937 in Fayetteville, AR. He attended Fayetteville Public Schools, then served in the U.S. Army. He was a 1962 graduate of the University of Arkansas receiving a BS in Mathmatics. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Upon graudation he was employed in the Computer Division of RCA in San Francisco. Later he joined the Hertz Corporation in Oklahoma City and he was Vice President of Reservations. In 1984 he accepted the position of Vice President, System Reservation for Avis Rent A Car Systems, Inc., in Tulsa. Charles married Elizabeth Diane Hilton in 1959 and was a devoted husband. He was also the loving and proud father of a daughter, Juliet; and a son, Colby; a fishing buddy, friend and mentor to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Fayette Bell and Cynthia Helen Hawkins of Fayetteville, AR; and a brother, Raleigh Bell; and sister, Hazel Newton. Two men who were found dead Monday at their south Tulsa County home were victims of a suicide-homicide, the state Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Tuesday.
Both Charles Fay Bell, 62, and his son, Colby Stone Bell, 25, died of gunshot wounds to the head, a spokeswoman for the office said.
Colby Bell's death was ruled a homicide, and Charles Bell's was a suicide, the spokewoman said.
Colby Bell had been bedridden and on life support since being paralyzed in a motorcycle accident about five years ago, authorities said.

Edgar G. Bernhardt, 76, father of W. J. Bernhardt, west of Jenks, died in a Claremore hospital Tuesday following an illness of about two weeks.
A native of Illinois, Mr. Bernhardt had lived in Claremore for 30 years and was a partner in the Parker-Bernhardt Funeral Home there until 1945.
He is also survived by a daughter, Miss Marilee Bernhardt of the home, three brothers and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Claremore at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Mss. Berry was born August 20, 1945 the daughter of Joe R. and Velma Jean (Cunningham) Berry and passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa. She is survived by her nephew, Beau Berry of Jenks.
Ms. Berry was well known in the Jenks area, particularly through her column "Berry Pickin,'" written for several years in the Jenks Journal. She had been very involved with the Jenks Chamber of Commerce, was a past president of the Jenks Community Education Advisory council and with various civic groups and other volunteer endeavors.
Over the years she has been a reporter, a wig salesman, owner of a club, owner of a dog grooming service, a public relations director for the Central States Rodeo Association, and much more.
She loved politics and campainged for several local and state politicians with many becoming a good friend.
About five years ago, the City of Jenks proclaimed "Jo Berry Day" in her honor for all she had done in promoting Jenks and for the courage she had shown through a long period of challenges.
Called by a fellow writer at one point the "social conscience of Jenks," her obituary will end appropriately with the way she ended each of the columns that she wrote as she said, "please be very kind to one another."
Dorothy Lee Winn Padgett Berry, beloved mother and grandmother "Ganga" left this world on the afternoon of Monday, June 23, 2003.
She is survived by one son, Darrell R. Padgett and one daughter Leanna D. Chidester, both of Jenks; five grandchildren, Lanna, Londa, Lorra, Floyd Darrell and Lissa Chidester; also two sisters, Lorene Edmond of Harrisburg, Va. and Mary Wilson of Skiatook, Okla.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond R. Padgett, her second husband, Horace E. Berry; two brothers, Frank Winn, Basil Winn and one sister, Virginia Dedmon, all of Tulsa, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She also leaves behind many friends at Grace Living Center in Jenks.
Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Tulsa Central High School, was strong in faith and had a beautiful voice that could be heard at church services. She worked in the nursing field at Hillcrest and St. John's medical centers. She then worked as a receptionist for Dr. Murray P. Engle.
She was a wonderful grandmother and the world's best mother to her children. Dorothy loved to walk and enjoy the beauty of outdoors. Toward the end, her health prevented her from walking but now not only can she walk, but she can soar with the angels.
The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Living Center, Good Shepherd Hospice, and St. Francis hospital that cared for Dorothy. A special thanks to Debbie and Mark Joshlin for their support and love and to the loved ones that not only gave their time but "cheese-its" and "Diet Pepsis" and love.
And the Greatest of these is Love.

Jean Berry, longtime resident of Jenks died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at the age of 85.
She was born April 14, 1916 in Magazine, Ark. to William and Mary (Campbell) Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jo Berry, on Dec. 5, 2000.
She is survived by a son, James Berry of Cleveland, and a grandson, Beau Berry of Jenks.
Services were Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001 at the Jenks First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ninde Funeral Directors, Jenks Chapel.
A Jenks woman was killed in a car crash early Sunday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The patrol said Sarah Bersche, 26, was a passenger in a 2002 Nissan Xterra when the vehicle ran off the roadway shortly before 1:30 a.m. on an Inner Dispersal Loop ramp onto Interstate 244, OHP reports show.
The Nissan struck the right barrier wall, then crossed the roadway and struck the left barrier wall before overturning, troopers reported.
Bersche was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, OHP reports show.
BESSOLO -- Mary Ann, of Warrensburg, MO, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at home after a long battle with cancer. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2004 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Tulsa, OK with Rev. Ft. Michael J. Knipe officiating. Mary Ann was born in Monroe, MI to Fernand DusSault and Sarah Renaud DusSault on December 8, 1925. Having passed up a scholarship to study drama at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she was married on October 26, 1945. Besides being an avid reader, Mrs. Bessolo loved cooking and baking, volunteer work, and being with family and friends. She was a long time member of St. Matthew Catholic Church of Flint, MI. Her creative designs and centerpieces graced many football banquet tables. Afer 23 years as Office Manager for Dentist, William G. Henige, Mary Ann retired and moved to Tulsa, OK in 1985. While in Tulsa she started two businesses. She touched many familys' lives by caring for their loved ones while they were away. In May, 1991, Mary Ann opened the All-Spice Shop in Jenks, OK, becoming a successful small business entrepreneur and consultant. She served on the Board of Directors of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce and RARC, (center for adults with developmental disabilities), as well as being an active member of the Jenks Merchant's Association. Mary Ann retired for a second time in August 1999. In August of 2003 she moved to Warrensburg, MO to be with family. Mrs. Bessolo was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, Felix J. Marvin Wayne Bias
Service for Marvin Wayne Bias, 68, was 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with full military honors.
Bias was born in Lawton on July 8, 1936, son of Melbourn Bias and Mabel Helen Byrd. He died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at his residence in Glenpool.
He graduated from Jay High School before entering the United States Air Force where he spent the next 20 years. He lived in Bristow for 24 years before moving to Glenpool last year.
Bias recently worked at his son's western store in Bristow. Hobbies included gambling, fishing and collecting stamps and coins.
He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Marion Lewis Bias.
He is survived by his stepson: Dean Elder; daughters: Tasha Lynn Haigh and her husband, John, Kandas Marie Harris, Angie Jones and her husband, Gary and Tammy Brooks; a brother: Melbourn Bias and his wife, Alice, and a sister: Elene Presonette and her husband, Carl. He has nine grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services for Leonard S. Bibb, 81, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel in Glenpool.
Mr. Bibb died April 27.
He was born in Redland, Okla., Dec. 7, 1921. He graduated from Gans High School in 1941 and joined the United States Marine Corps shortly thereafter.
Leonard and Anna Kinnick married in 1945 while he was stationed in San Diego and the couple made their home in Berkeley, Calif. He was a member of the Oakland Police Department for eight years before retiring due to a disabling auto accident while on duty.
The couple moved to Oklahoma in 1955.
Bibb is survived by siblings Mabel Cramer of Arvin, Calif., Betty Holcomb of Lodi, Calif., Donald Bibb of Bakersfield, Calif., Jo Ann Starkey of Monarch Beach, Calif., and Carol Harvell of Muldrow, Okla., also his children Gary Cody and wife Susan of Killeen, Tex., Patricia Smith and husband Tim of Edmond, Okla., Kathryn Calvery and husband Mike of Glenpool and Ken Howard of Calif., 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bibb was preceded in death by his brothers, Kepner Bibb of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jerry Bibb of Sallisaw, Okla., and Jackie Bibb of Tulsa as well as two sons, Larry, of the home, and Buddy Witt of Glenpool.

KOLKER -- Edith Laurene (Biles), 80, of Sand Springs passed away Saturday, January 22, 2005. Edith was born on April 16, 1924 in Bixby OK to Arthur and Ina Biles who preceded her in death. Her family moved to Lawton, OK and Edith graduated from Lawton High School. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II and while in the Navy, met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Kolker. They married on September 2, 1950. After Bob graduated from optometry college, the family moved to Sand Springs -- a community which became like family to them. Edith dedicated her life to raising her children and taking care of her family. An avid reader, she loved politics, current events and her dogs. She volunteered hours at organization including Project Get Together where she assisted her husband in establishing an eye clinic for the needy. She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother and father, Ina and Arhhur Biles of Lawton; her brother Arthur (Bud) Biles; and her sister, Jennie Biles, both of Lawton. EVA JANE BLEDSOE
Eva Jane Bledsoe was born Oct. 2, 1922 in Holdenville. She was the daughter of James Farr and Elizabeth Johnson Farr. Eva went to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 at her home in Glenpool. She was 92 years, four months and 23 days.
She was a long-time resident of Glenpool. On Nov. 9, 1929, Eva and Dave Bledsoe were united in marriage in Visalia, Calif. at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.
Eva was a homemaker, she worked on the farm and had a dairy before she went to work outside the home in 1962. She was employed at Dean's Steak House in Sapulpa, making salads and baked potatoes until 1963. She went to work in Tulsa at the Osteopathic Hospital in the sewing department until she retired in 1974.
After retirement, she made many quilts and enjoyed being with her grandson, David Bowling, watching him grow up and doing things together. She also mowed her yard, worked in her garden and flowerbeds. She attended First Baptist Church in Glenpool until she was unable to go because of her health.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Eual Farr, and her husband, Dave, in 1966.
Survivors are one son, Mervil Bledsoe and wife, Opal, of Tulsa; two daughters, Delores Bowling and husband, Perry, of Glenpool, and Darlene Jones and husband, Paul, of Beggs; brother, Clifford Farr, of Glenpool; sister, Peggy Bowers, of Glenpool; sister-in-law, Dolly Farr, of Glenpool; four grandchildren, Tammy Rollins, David Bowling and Jake and Tim Jones; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and Mama's two special angels who took such good care of her, Cleo Swayze and Donna Guinn.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at Bixby Funeral Service Colonial Chapel in Bixby. Interment will be in Bixby Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Yandell and the Rev. Sean Kennedy will be officiating.

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Blevins, mother of Robert Blevins of Jenks, were held at Okmulgee Monday.
Mrs. Blevins, 90, died Friday night in an Okmulgee convalescent home. Interment was in the Okmulgee cemetery.
She was born at Dardanelle, Ark., and came to Oklahoma in 1915, settling at Wewoka and later moving to Okmulgee.
Other survivors include two sons, Ben of Okmulgee and Orace of Long Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. E.Z. Cobb, Tulsa, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She and Verlong Bogle were married on Sept. 24, 1938 in Hanna. He preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1996, after more than 58 years of marriage.

"We are grieved to hear of the recent death of Mrs. Luther Bolton of Tulsa, formerly of Jenks. They resided here for many years. The Bolton Hardware, owned by brothers Luther and Joe, was in business for many years. Their daughter, Vera Henson, was a teacher here. Mrs. Bolton was a member of the Eastern Star and the Christian church. Loyd Cates was her brother. Several Jenks friends attended the funeral services in Tulsa."

Weston enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, reading and spending time with his cat, Friskee. He was employed at the Glenpool Sonic Drive-In.

Former Jenks resident Clair Bortzfield, 59, died of a heart attack Sunday June 28 at his home in Oklahoma City. Services were held in the chapel of Hahn, Clark, Street and Draper Funeral Home and burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
He is survived by his widow, Virginia, of the home; a son Billy of Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter Ann Griffith of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Bortzfield of Jenks; four brothers, Elmer of Jenks, Marshall of Gladewater, Texas, Herbert of Tulsa and Evert of Crane, Texas.
Bortzfield worked for Interstate Oil Pipe Line Co. while living in Jenks and was later transferred to Oklahoma City.
His wife is the daughter of Mrs. Mullins of Oklahoma City and the late H. I. Mullins, who was owner of a grocery store in Jenks for several years.
Roy and I. L. Boss, and Mr. and Mrs. S. J. McGonigal have returned home from Colorado where they attended the funeral of their brother, Orval B. Boss, Sr. who was killed in an automobile accident July 7.

JENKS -- Millie Anne Bowman, a retired Tulsa teacher, died Saturday. She was 76.
Services are set for 1 p.m. Thursday at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow.
Bowman was born in Loco, in southwestern Oklahoma, and was an all-state forward for the 1943 Comanche High School basketball team.
She went on to attend the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1948.
In 1963, she earned a master's degree in psychology at the University of Tulsa.
She married Raymon Bowman in Bentonville, Ark., in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1987.
After starting her Tulsa Public Schools career at Central High School, Bowman went to work at Webster High School in 1954. She was to spend 32 years at the school teaching biology and girls' physical education.
She also worked as a counselor at Webster.
Bowman was active in Rebekah Lodge and was a former state president of the organization.
She is survived by one son, Tulsa World Marketing Department worker Greg Bowman of Tulsa; a stepdaughter, Linda Montgomery of Springer; two sisters, Jessie Carter of Ardmore and Essie Tettleton of Nocona, Texas; and a brother, Jim Boon of Comanche.
BOYD -- Clint A., was best known for his honesty, love of life and compassionate way. He was born May 11, 1925 in Arpelor, OK to Dee Allen Boyd and Emma Louella Cobbs Boyd. He passed away September 13, 2002. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II on a Destroyer Escort. He attended Oklahoma A&M, now OSU, on the G.I. Bill and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation he began his career as a Design Engineer with Reda Pump Co. in Bartlesville, OK. 1956-1960 he was Chief Electrical Engineer for Sta-Rite Products in Delavan, WI. Later in his career, he returned to Tulsa and was one of the first employees of Centrilift and was referred to as the Father of Centrilift. Clint was a prolific inventor and in his career he held 22 patents on electric motors and pumps. He is listed in Who's Who of America. He built the Cable Plant in Claremore, OK that produced oil well cable as well as cable for water wells. He retired in 1987 from Centrilift, a division of Baker-Hughes, as Senior Vice President in charge of all electrical cable and motor controls. He loved sailing, golfing and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Sidney of 25-plus years, who traveled faithfully with him on the long and difficult journey through Alzheimer's. They were married March 26, 1977. He is also survived by: a son, Dan Alan Boyd of Bixby; a daughter, Trace Lynn Leavitt of Tulsa; a step-daughter, Melodie Ann Daugherty of Orange Park, FL; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial services for Jenks City Councilwoman Lillian Boyd will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Jenks United Methodist Church, 415 E. Main. Boyd died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001.
Funeral services for family will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home in McAlester, 2 p.m. Wdenesday, Nov. 21, with burial in McAlester.
Boyd was an active Jenks citizen, serving on the Jenks City Council; the Jenks Aquarium Authority; a recent past president of Jenks Senior Citizens, Inc.; chairperson of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce Goodwill Ambassadors; a board member for RARC, a member of the Pilot Club; and a member of Jenks United Methodist Church.
"She was always willing to help other people and do good deeds, and she'll be missed," said Jenks Senior Citizens President Barbara Hodgson.
Mayor Mike Tinker praised her dedication to her Ward, the City of Jenks and the City Council. "She was a dedicated worker and attended a four-hour meeting even a month ago, as ill as she was," he said.
But her biggest concern was her desire to see the Aquarium finished, he added. "The important thing was she was there to get it started, and you can't finish anything if you don't start it. She was certainly a major player in getting it started, and we will be indebted to her for that."
She also helped organize Senior Citizens as Teachers with the past Jenks Central Elementary Principal Phillip Cimei, and she tutored at Central one day a week until recently.
She had also been in The Pilot Club of Tulsa service organization; Hotel Sales and Marketing Association; American Society Travel Agents; American Society of Women Accountants and the American Marketing Association.
She had served on the Jenks City Council since June 1998, originally completing the term of City Councilman Gary Medlin.
As chairperson of the Jenks Chamber of Commerce Goodwill Ambassadors, she helped promote positive business and public relations for the city, attending groundbreaking ceremonies, open houses, new business openings and dedications, as well as helping with special Chamber of Commerce events.
"As a Jenks Ambassador she was a great promoter of Jenks, giving of her time, always helping out, always enthusiastic" said Jenks Chamber of Commerce Director Ruth Littlefield.
"She had served as president of the Jenks Senior Citizens until recently, leading the Senior Citizens group in many worthwhile activities," said current Senior Citizens President Barbara Hodgson.
Councilwoman Boyd had served 25 years in the business, hospitality and tourism industry. She had worked as Director of Sales and Marketing and as Interim Manager for Best Western Trade Winds East Inn, helping bring tourism to the area, working there more than 15 years. She had also worked as business manager for Reed Enterprises.
She is survived by a son, Dan Boyd of Jenks; a daughter Traci Leavitt of Tulsa; one grandson and several sisters and one brother.
BOYD--Lillian Rosetta (Turnbow), Jenks City Council member and 1999 Outstanding Oklahoma woman, passed away November 18, 2001. Retired, living in Jenks, OK after 22 years as Director of Sales for Trade Winds Inn, Lil's take-charge attitude compelled her to remain active. Her civic leadership extended to the Jenks Aquarium Board, Ambassador to Jenks for the Chamber of Commerce, Pilot Club (Past President, Board of Directors), RARC (Board of Directors), Jenks Senior Citizens (Past President, Board of Directors) and Tulsa Zoo Friends. Born April 2, 1928, in McAlester, OK to Jesse and Mary Ann Turnbow, Lil was one of 10 children. She married Clinton Argolis Boyd on January 31, 1946, and began both a family and a legacy of community leadership. Lillian became active in the Tulsa Garden Club, Tulsa Little Theatre, Tulsa and Oklahoma Federataion of Women's Clubs, American Society of Women Accountants and the HMSA (Past President). She is survived by: her son, Dan Boyd; her daughter, Trace Leavitt and grandson, Raleigh Leavitt; sisters, Ola Welsh, Irene Roth, Bea Hailey, Lois Nyhard, Margaret Quinn; brother, Charles Turnbow; and other numerous family and friends. Family services were held at Bishop Chapel in McAlester on Wednesday. A memorial service for friends and family will be held today at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Jenks, of which she was an active member. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent in Lil's behalf to any of the numerous organizations with which she was affiliated. GERHARD BRADER, 88, of Abilene Texas, died at 10:45 a.m. April 6, in Hendrick Memorial Hospital.
Funeral was held at 2 p.m. April 8, at College View Baptist Church. Officiating minister was Rev. Billy Hendrix, Baptist minister from San Angelo. He was assisted by the Rev. J. R. Murdock, pastor of College View Baptist Church. His six grown grandsons were pall bearers.
Burial was in Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
Brader was born August 28, 1881, in Oak Hill, Mo., and moved to Oklahoma when he was 11 years old. He married Daisy M. Haskinson in Wealaka, Sept. 6, 1910.
They moved to Abilene from Miles, Texas, Jan. 28, 1959. Brader was a retired oil field pumper and a member of the Baptist Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Mandy Hopper of Eunice, N.M., and Mrs. Hazel McCormick of Abilene, a son Loran J. Edgewater, Fla., one brother, Rudolph of Bend, Ore., nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jimmy Ray Bradley
Service for Jimmy Ray Bradley, 67, were 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10 at the Inola First Baptist Church. Dr. Mike Butler and Pastor Gary Harbor officiated. Burial followed in the Floral Haven Cemetery under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home and Crematory.
Bradley was born Aug. 10, 1937 in Bixby, Okla., the son of Oscar and Novia Miller Bradley. He died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
As a young boy, Jimmy and his family lived in Jenks where he participated in several sports before his graduation. In 1955 he married Karalee Sandefur in Pawhuska.
They made their home in the Tulsa area where Jimmy worked for F-5 corporation. The couple also lived in the Grand Lake area and near Stroud where they operated a ranch.
In 1964, Jimmy started Bradley Heat and Air which he owned and operated for several years. In 2000, Jimmy and Karalee moved to Inola where they were members of the Inola First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Ashlee Lenora and 13 siblings.
Survivors include his wife of the home, a son Phillip and wife Angela of Glenpool; daughters Tami Tate and husband Mike of Tulsa and Debby Gray and husband Mitch of Bartlesville; a brother, Paul Bradley of Jenks; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services for Joe John Bradley, 73, were held Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, in the Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks with Pastor Reggie Phillips officiating. Interment was at the Bixby Cemetery under the direction of Ninde Funeral directors, Jenks Chapel.
Mr. Bradley died on Sudany morning, Nov. 5, in St. Francis Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born April 26, 1927, in Bixby, to Oscar Everett and Novia Louella Miller Bradley, he lived most of his life in the Bixby and Jenks areas.
He married Minnie Maud Trusen on September 17, 1947, in Tulsa. He worked for the City of Tulsa and Arrow Industrial and later owned Bradley Trash Service.
He was a veteran of WW II and a member of the Tulsa Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as a deacon at one time.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Minnie of the home; daughters, Carma Fox and her husband Gary of Tulsa; Sandra Scott and her husband, Jerry of Jenks; sister, Helen Becker of Jenks; brothers, Paul Bradley of Jenks and Jim Bradley of Tulsa; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She moved to Jenks 50 years ago. She was a long time member of the Jenks Road Freewill Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Nathan Bradley, and two sons, Billy Acord and Elmer Pennington.
She is survived by one daughter, Lucille Garner and her husband Gerald, of Sperry; one son, Don Bradley and his wife Dolores of Jenks; one sister, Ruby Land of Royal Ark.; two brothers, Earnest Ennis and Junior Ennis, both of Hot Springs; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

G. DONALD BRAZEAL, 66, one of the longest survivors after a kidney transplant, died of an apparently unrelated cause November 17, 1999 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His sister, LaVern Jordan, had given him a kidney in March 1983, according to one of his daughters.
He was a Jenks resident most of his life.
Services were held for Donald Brazeal, 66, on Friday, November 19, at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Sapulpa with Rev. Troy Hayes officiating.
Mr. Brazeal was born March 31, 1933, in Stigler, Okla. to Cecil and Alva Brazeal.
He worked for John Zink Company as a heat and air man for 28 years and was married to Vela Mae.

BRONAUGH -- Lea Tate, 82, born Decmeber 21, 1919, in Enterprise, OK, to Odelia Goforth and Don Tate, died suddenly of a heart attack at her Jenks home, August 23, 2002. The wife for 56 years of the late Eugene Bronaugh, the mother of Paula J. Carreiro, Headmistress of Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, grandmother of Damon and Daron Carreiro, and great-grandmother of Daxon Carreiro, she will be much missed by her family and friends. One of 8 children, she is also survived by her sister, Mary Jo Ford; as well as by many devoted nieces and nephews. A graduate of Milburn High School and Oklahoma Presbyterian College for Women, she was a Supervisor of aircraft inspectors at McDonnell Douglas during World War II while her husband served as a Seabee in the Pacific. During the 1950's, '60's and '70's, she was a beloved Kindergarten Teacher at Cherokee, Morse, and Greeley elementary schools. A member of Kappa Kappa Iota sority for educators, she was a dedicated congregant at Will Rogers Methodist Church, Turley Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church of Jenks. Proud of her Chickasaw heritage, she had researched her family's passage on the Trail of Tears from Mississippi. Her strength of character, her joy for life and her love of friends and family made her a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, at the Memorial Park Chapel, with interment to follow at Memorial Cemetery. The Reverend Keith Cressman will officiate. THe Right Reverend Nathan Baxter, Dean of the Washington National Cathedral, will offer the benediction. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the West Tulsa Assembly of God church for Mrs. Ida Brooks, 85. She had been in a coma about five months before her death. She had been a regular attendant for Sunday school and the afternoon church services while a resident at the Riverside nursing home (in Jenks).
The last Sunday she was able to attend services she was asked to name her favorite hymn. With a pleasant smile, she answered that she enjoyed them all.
She is survived by three sons, W. R. Brooks of Tulsa, Jack Brooks of Oklahoma City, C. H. Brooks of Sand Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Bess Palmore of Jenks; nine grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Floral Haven Cemetery.

BROOME, Margaret V., born March 25, 1921 to George and Helen Wasson of Jenks, OK. She married B.B. Broome of Tulsa, November 15, 1946. While living in Tulsa Margaret was active in a number of civic and social activities. The Broome family moved to Oklahoma City in 1971 where B.B. owned and operated Spartan Aviation Services. Margaret served as Acting Vice President. She was active in a number of civic functions in Oklahoma City as well. Margaret and family enjoyed many happy summers at the Fin and Feather Resoret in Gore, OK, where the family maintained a mobile home for many years. Margaret passed away Saturday, June 15, 2002, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Bradley B. Broome; and sister, Inez Lowe. She is survived by: her husband of 55 years, B.B.; daughter Brenda Broome Christian of Victoria, VA and daughter Sue Carol Oliver of Moore, OK. She is also survived by sister, Louise Roberts of Tulsa, OK; aunt, Daisy Mitchell of Tulsa, OK; Tommy Burton; and uncle, Leroy Brown of West Plains, MO. "Mamoo" was loved and adored by her 3 grandchildren and their families: Mark Christian and wife, Amy of Columbia, MO, Spencer Christian and fiancee, Jill Allen of Broomfield, CO, and Sarah Oliver of Moore, OK; and her 2 great-grandchildren, William Blake Christian and Caroline Margaret Christian of Columbia, MO. She was born in Jenks on February 9, 1932, and died on August 27 (1990). She was married to James Stewart Brown, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Brown was a cook at Jenks Public Schools.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Carnahan, Jenks and Darlene Eddy of Oklahoma City; one brother, Raymond Phillips, Jenks; one sister, Rubalee Cox of Ft. Worth, TX; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bruce, 80, a resident of Jenks 45 years, was a native of Knoxville, Tenn.

BRUMETT -- Sue Carol, 55, born February 24, 1948 to JC and Anna Lee (Brown) Brumett in Tulsa, OK. Went to be with the Lord April 6, 2003. She was a graduate of Jenks High School and received an Associate's degree from a college in Portland, ME. She worked as a Medical Assistant in Dermatology in her last years. Her optimism and passion for people enriched her life, as well as impacted the lives of those she loved. Survived by father, JC Brumett, Tyler, TX; daughter, Joey Michelle Mdelin and husband, Shawn, College Station, TX; son Jeffery Craig Baker, Saco, ME; and grandchildren, Matthew and Michael. Mrs. Nellie Brumley, 73, died Sunday in Broken Arrow nursing home where she had spend the last several months following an illness last fall.
She had lived in Jenks for the past 40 years.
Mrs. Brumley was born at Mulberry, Arkansas, but came to Jenks from Tennessee. She was the widow of James H. Brumley who died in 1955. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by 2 sons, one of whom, John Brumley, lives in Tulsa; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Sellman, also of Tulsa; a brother, John Spencer of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church by the Rev. C. E. McDonald. Interment was in Bixby Cemetery under the direction of the Hendricks Funeral Home.

BUCHAN -- Bill, born March 12, 1934. Bill left the loving hands of his family to the loving hands of the Lord, August 8, 2003, in Tulsa, OK. He had been blessed with a good life, devoted family and an abundance of friends, and will be dearly remembered by all. He always had a good story or joke to tell about his 2 passions, hunting and competing with his bird dogs in Regional Field Trials, in which he was the elimination winner in the regional finals with his prize dog, Britches. He was a devoted husband, father and Papa. Born in Hawthorne, CA to Clive and Willa Buchan. Moved from California to Oklahoma when he was a senior in high school. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1959 after the Korean Conflict. He worked for Travelers Insurance and Procter and Gamble and retired from Allstate Insurance in 2000 after 36 years as an Allstate General Agent. He was a member of Newspring Family Church in Jenks. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Organizations and the Hulah Lake Bird Dog Club. He was preceded in death by his father, Clive. He is survived by his wife, Vernadean of 17 years; and her 3 children, Phillina, Justina and Lisha; his first wife, Carolyn Buchan of 20 years; and their 3 children, Scott, Bryan and Bonnie; 15 grandchildren; his mother, Willa Buchan; his siter, Sharon Goodwin; half brother, Bud Buchan; nieces; cousins; and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at Newspring Family Church in Jenks, OK by Pastor Mark Merrill. His body was donated to the science department at Oklahoma State University where he graduated from college and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. BUSCH -- Alicia "Rhen," 47, died on August 23, 2003. She was born to Bill and Jo DeBolt in 1955 in Tulsa, OK. A graduate of Jenks High School, Jenks, OK where she was an honor student, she furthered her education by attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, receiving a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Secondary Education in 1977. She began her teaching career in Duncan, OK teaching 7th grade Social Studies and volunteering with the Big Sister organization. From 1978 to 1980 she taught high school psychology, sociology and American History in Claremore, OK. Rhen married Daryl Busch in Tulsa, OK in 1980 and they moved to Grants, NM where Rhen was the Assistant Librarian at the New Mexico State University Grants Branch Library. Moving to Albuquerque in 1981, Rhen worked at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Library until 1994 when she became the Librarian supervising Collection Management Unit at the Rio Rancho Public Library. During this time through Distance Education, she received her Master's Degree in Library Science from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS. Her "dream job" became a reality in August 2002 when she began working as the Library Media Specialist at Rio Rancho High School and participated in a district-wide Literacy Cadre. Rhen was a member of the American Library Association, a licensed Secondary Library Media Specialist, gave introductory Internet lessons to Rio Rancho Public School Teachers and participated in the creation of the Rio Rancho Public Schools Library Curriculum. Rhen was a member of First Baptist Church of Rio Ranco where she was active in the Sunday School Department as a Teacher, Information Center Head and Church Librarian. Rhen loved the Lord, her family, people, education, learning, books and reading. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill DeBolt, in 1996. Rhen is survived by her husband, Daryl Busch of Rio Rancho, mother Jo DeBolt of Tulsa, OK; children, Stephanie Genelle Busch and Stewart Wade Busch; sister, Gwen Bayhylle and husband, Maruice of Glenpool, OK; and brother Bud DeBolt and wife, Lisa of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 aunts; an uncle; 4 nieces; 2 nephews; 2 great-aunts; a great-uncle, and several loving cousins also survive. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2003 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho with Pastor Si Budagher officating. Services were held in the Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church Monday, December 18 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Mamie A. Butler, 72, a Tulsa resident for more than 40 years, and the sister of Robert L. Garrett, southeast of Jenks and of Ernest Garrett, Bixby.
Mrs. Butler died after suffering an apparent heart attack Thursday, December 14 in the home of a niece, Mrs. Frances McIntyre, 3913 East 4th Place, Tulsa. She lived at 3603 East King Street until becoming ill on Tuesday. She had a heart ailment about 10 years.
Her husband, J. O. Butler, a cattle man, died in 1943. She was born in Missouri.
Interment was in Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow, under direction of Tulsa-Whisenhunt Funeral Home.

Services for Travis Lee Butts, 33, Broken Arrow, were 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003 in the Central Church of the Nazarene, Tulsa. Rev. Jim Thornton and Rev. Charles Matlock officiated.
Interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, Okla., under the direction of Leonard & Marker Funeral Home of Bixby.
Travis Lee Butts was born March 20, 1970 in Tulsa to Ronald Lee & Sharon Kay (Malone) Butts. He died March 31.
Travis had spent virtually all of his life in this area graduating from Jenks High School in 1988. He spent many years working in the service departments of Ramsey Chevrolet and South Pointe Chevrolet before forming a partnership with Jim O'Deen and establishing Bixby Auto & Tire which they ran for several years.
They recently purchased the Tire Barn of Bixby and Broken Arrow and even more recently had purchased Mac's Tire Center in Tulsa.
He was an active, vital member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene and loved hunting, street rods, telling or hearing a good joke and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Leah Dianne (Davis) Butts, whom he married on November 16, 1001 in Tulsa as well as by his two children, Drake Allen and Kaylee Jordan; his father, Ronald Butts of Jenks; a brother, DeWayne Butts of Inola; a sister, Stacey Davis of Germany and many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon "Kaye" Butts in 1984.
Casektbearers were Mark MacKenzie, David Winn, Shawn Dick, Charles Mattlock Jr., John Matlock, DeWayne Butts, Jim O'Deen, and Ed Jones. Honorary bearers were John Alcott, Gary Nafus, Ed Watson, Ken Johnson, Tom Brown, Johnny Butts, Tyler Winn, Jordan Winn and Don MacKenzie.
Funeral services for Fred. S. Byard, 73, were held August 29 (1990) at 10 a.m. at Jenks First Baptist Church, with interment at the Beggs City Cemetery.
Mr. Byard was born June 27, 1917 at Mounds, Ok to Hiram W. and Nora Pearl Byard. He died on August 26 (1990).
He was a former oil field worker, and retired in 1979 from Scott Rice where he was a shipping cler, minvolved with domestic and international shipping.
Byard was a 32nd degree Mason and was an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Mae, in January 1983.
Survivors include: one son, Larry Byard, Tulsa; two daughters, Lou Edmiston, Tulsa and Sue Estep, Broken Arrow; two sisters, Mary Cowen, Tahlequah, and Marcella Gooch, Port Arthur, TX; one brother, Bill Byard, Mounds; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services and interment were under the direction of Ninde Funeral Home.

KENNETH BYRD -- 80, of Bixby, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2003. Born March 31, 1922 at Chelsea, OK. Loved his Lord, his devoted wife, his kids and worshipped his grandchildren. Kenneth's favorite passion was restoration of early V8 Fords. In 1976 he purchased and restored to original condition a 1936 Ford identical to one he owned in high school. Member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church since 1941, Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class, early Ford V8 Club and past President, retired from Sun Oil Co. in 1983 with 41 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers. Survived by: wife of 38 years, Patsy Byrd; 5 children, Janet Byrd, Diana Stephens, Lloyd Kirk, Fred Kirk, and Sandy Walker; 9 grandchildren, Jeremy Walker, Chuck Thompson, Angela Bartlow, Melissa Harder, Chris Stephens, Jeff Walker, Brian Kirk, Sydney Byrd of the home and Kyla Kirk; 1 brother, Herbert Byrd; 5 sisters, Rosetta Meyers, Louise Roysdon, Jodi Miller, Phyllis Graham and Ruth Allen; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
