"There have been so many deaths of late of our Jenks friends. Mrs. May Kaufman was an early day pioneer, coming to live with Mrs. Dunn, who owned the hotel here. She met Val Kaufman who was here working for an oil company. They were married a few years later and lived here for many years before the company transferred them away. Their children were Elizabeth and Woodrow. Mr. Kaufman was on the Board of Education for years and he saw that locally educated people were given equal and due teaching consideration. The Kaufmans were a good Christian family whose friendship we all cherished."
BIXBY -- Fred Dallas Keas, Sr., 74, retired city manager, died Wednesday. Services 2 p.m. Friday, Downtown Church of Christ, Leonard & Marker.
Services for Fred Dallas Keas, Sr., 74, were held Friday, 2 p.m., April 5, 1996, at the Church of Christ and officiated by Mr. Bill Burton. Interment was at the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens (Broken Arrow).
Mr. Keas served his country during WWII while in the U.S. Air Force in Scotland. He became a resident of Bixby in 1963. He was Bixby City Manager for several years and completed many projects for Bixby.
He married his wife Pat on Oct. 26, 1945, in Yuma, Ariz. She survives him of the home.
He also leaves one son, Fred and wife Sue Ann Keas, Jr., of Bixby; one brother, Paul, and wife; Dottie Keas of Okla. City; one sister, Mae and husband Burton Connally of Sayre, Ok.; three grandchildren; Jeffrey and wife Shelly Keas of Leonard; Lori and husband Rand Smalling of Tulsa; Jenny and husband Brannon Wolfe of Owasso; and five great grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Keas, and three sisters, Ruby Crouch, Margaret Martin and Ida Etta Keas.

Clyde William Kendall
Services for Clyde William Kendall, 87, of Jenks, was 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 at Leonard and Marker Funeral Home Chapel, Bixby. Burial followed at the Bixby Cemetery officiated by Rev. Troy Hayes.
Mr. Kendall died Sept. 27, 2004 in Tulsa.
He was born Oct. 30, 1916 in Warriors Run, West Virginia, son of Howard and Sadie Hibbs Kendall. He had been a resident of Jenks since 1963.
He was an Army veteran serving in World War II as a member of the Army Air Corp. He worked for many years in the oilfields as a pumper and retired as a machinist for Unit Rig Co.
Kendall married Helen M. Cordray on June 20, 1942 in Maryland.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy King and husband Dave of Mannford, Patricia Thompson and husband James of Bristow; three sons, Douglas Kendall of the Philippines, Donald and wife Laurie of Bartlesville, and Gary and wife Mary Jane of Houston, Tex.; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Earl and Ralph Kendall. Pallbearers were Christopher Kendall, Matthew Kendall, Brad Kendall, Michael Kendall, Barry Kendall and Josh Allen.

LARRY FRANK KENNEDY
Services for Larry Frank Kennedy were held July 25 at the Jenks Regular Baptist Church. Rev. Troy Hayes officiated. Burial was in the Floral Haven Cemetery under the dirction of Ninde Funeral Directors of Jenks.
Larry Frank Kennedy was born October 13, 1940 in Porterville, Calif. to William Riley and Mildered Louise (Hall) Kennedy. He died July 21, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa following a brief illness. He was 61.
Kennedy moved with his family to Jenks in 1951. He was a member of the 1958 graduating class in Jenks. He worked for C.E. National Tank Company in Sand Springs as a foreman for 17 years. He went to work for Ford Glass Company in 1979 where he worked for 23 years as a glass inspector.
He married Bette Rae Edmiston on June 22, 1960 in Sapulpa. They and their family have made their home in Jenks since that time.
He was a 32nd degree mason, a member of the Akdar Shrine Temple. He was on the Indian Degree Team. He was also an avid golfer and sportsman.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bette, of the home; sons Anthony "Tony" Kennedy and his wife, Charla, of Glenpool, and Larry Scott Kennedy of Jenks; a brother, Jerry Allen Kennedy of Ramstein, Germany; a sister, Billie Ruth Peters of Livingston, Calif., and grandchildren Blake Kennedy, Jordan Kennedy, Cody Kennedy and Chad Kennedy.
Pallbearers were Mike Brown, Mitch Cole, Mike Sparkman, Dave Collins, Wally Chuculate and Rufus Lyons.
Honorary pallbearers were Herb Watson, Kenny Burks, Ace Hamilton, Bill Shepard, Dan McKay, Richard Freis and employees of the Ford Glass Company.

Born March 21, 1914 in Alma, Ark., to James and Maude Kidd. Member of Central Baptist Church in Owasso. Beloved mother of her son, Bill Ratliff and wife, Georgia of Jenks; a grandson, Brian Ratliff and wife, Amy, of Jenks; also survived by sisters, Norma Jean Massey of Tulsa and Doris Tabor of Bristow; brothers Calvin Kidd, and Jim Kidd, all of Tulsa, and Reeves Kidd of Fresno, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe E. Kight
Joe E. Kight, 56, of Beggs, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004.
He was born Sept. 3, 1948 in Vian to Earnest and Tessie (Smith) Kight. He worked as a Lineman Foreman for OG&E and loved to restore old cars and work in the yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Denis Kight and brother Glen Kight.
He is survived by his daughter Kathy Joe Kight, of Okmulgee; son Dwight Kight and wife Shari, of Guymon; sister Wanda Landrum and husband Billy, of Bixby; and four grandchildren.
Graveside serviced will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs. There will be no visitation.

Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri at 2:30 p.m., Nov. 26, under the direction of Leonard and Marker Funeral Home of Bixby.

He died Nov. 23, 2002, in Tulsa.
Kimberlin was born April 25, 1932 in Covington, Virginia to George David and Lor Mae "Bess" Kimberlin.
Kimberlin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Chapman University and spent 23 years in the United States Air Force reaching the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring.
After retirment from the Air Force, he worked another 10 years as a truck driver for Bama Transporation. He moved to Jenks several years ago after living many years in Neosho, Missouri. He became active in the Beaver Street Baptist Church.
Ben is survived by four daughters: Lynda Thein of Venice Beach, Calif., Debra Stewart of Topeka, Kan., Benita Williams of Lancaster, Calif., and Regina Garrison of Muskogee, Okla.; four brothers, Melvin Wallace Kimberlin of Ohio, Henry George Kimberlin, Donald Leon Kimberlin and Thurman Leo Kimberlin all of Virginia; two sisters, Mary Louise May and Celia Lorraine Hooker both of Virginia; 17 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Kimberlin on June 18, 1976 as well as his parents and three brothers.

A Broken Arrow man died after an automobile collision in Delaware County Tuesday morning.
Donald E. Kindle, 51, was driving a 1992 Mercury on the Cherokee Turnpike about 7:45 a.m., when he ran off the south side of the road, overcorrected, traveled back onto the roadway, then crossed the median and drove into the lanes of oncoming traffic, where he collided head-on with a tractor-trailer, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
He was pinned inside the vehicle for about 45 minutes and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the rig, James Adam Stick, 26, of Jay, was not injured.
Troopers said both men had been wearing seat belts.
BIXBY -- Don Kindle, 51, school principal, died Tuesday. Service 10 a.m. Saturday, Riverview Baptist Church. Bixby Funeral Service.
Lontime educator Don E. Kindle, who spent more than two decades in the Bixby public school system before leaving recently, died Tuesday in an automobile collision in Delaware county.
He was 51.
"He was an ourstanding young man, very knowledgeable of school business, school affairs and the curriculum," said Bill McKinney, the former superintendent of Bixby schools. "His strongest point was his keen understanding and empathy for children and his desire to help children.
"It's a big, big loss for education."
Kindle, of Broken Arrow, spent 21 years in Bixby Public Schools, as a teacher, elementary school principal, director of elementary education and assistant superintendent.
He was hired July 1 as the principle at Northside Elementary School in Siloam Springs, Ark.
Kindle was heading back to Arkansas on the Cherokee Turnpike when he ran off the south side of the road about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Driving a 1992 Mercury, Kindle overcorrected, traveled back onto the road, then crossed the median and drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided head-on with a tractor-trailer rig, the OHP reported.
Kindle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the rig was uninjured.
Kindle received a bachelor's degree in education from Northeastern State University in Talequah in 1971. He taught at public schools in Fairland and Grove before heading to Bixby.
His survivors include his wife, Lee; his mother, Wanda Long of Westville; daughters Kyndi Kindle and Kelly Metcalf, both of Broken Arrow, and Leslie Metcalf of Grand Cayman; and a son, John Metcalf of Tulsa.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby. Entombment will follow at the Rose Hill Mausoleum.

KING, Robert -- Robert Eugene King, 79, of Glenpool, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born Feb. 2, 1925 in Bristow to Marvin L. King and Martha Hall.
He met Martha Louise Roberts and they were married Sept. 15, 1956 at Freedom, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Martha, of the home; son Coyn S. Armstrong; daughter Janet L. Gaydusek; brother Theodore King; grandchildren Sean Armstrong, Ragina Armstrong, and Warren Gaydusek; and two great-grandchildren David Armstrong and Zacheriah Pounds.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick died on Saturday, June 20, 1998, in St. Francis Hospital at Tulsa. She was a long-time Tulsa resident and a co-founder of All Steel Building Company.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was employed with All Steel Building Company until 1988. She was a native of Henryetta and a 1955 graduate of the Henryetta High School.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a member of the Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks.

Kirkpatrick died April 26, 2003 in Tulsa.
He was born Feb. 8, 1957 in Tulsa, the son of Ronald and Donna Mumford Kirkpatrick.
He was a member of Beaver Street Baptist Church and was a construction worker for Becco Contractors, Inc.
He is survived by one daughter, Destani McGuire of Jenks, a son, Heath Kirkpatrick of Jenks, his fiancee' Linda McCormick, his father, Ronald Kirkpatrick and a sister, Becky Bridges. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Kirkpatrick.
Interment was in Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta at 1 p.m. following the Jenks church service in the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Alderwoods - Heath Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

MARVIN DEAN KNIGHT
Services for Marvin Dean Knight, 21, were held Dec. 22, 2003 at Life Baptist Church, Broken Arrow. Rev. "Doc" Blevins officiated.
Burial was at Memorial Park under the direction of Ninde Funeral Home.
Knight died Dec. 17, 2003 in St. Francis Hospital.
He was born Sept. 17, 1982 in St. Francis Hospital the son of Melvin T. and Marietta Knight II of Jenks. He attended Jenks schools and had been active in elementary and middle school programs playing football, baseball and wrestling. Hobbies included building and driving fast cars, target combat shooting, fishing and training and playing with his two German Shepard dogs Hoppie and Grissly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Marvin E. and Marie Cunningham of Jenks, a paternal grandfather, Dean B. Knight, Sr. of Tulsa.
He is survived by his parents, Mel and Marietta Knight II of Jenks; a brother, Chip Knight, of the home; paternal grandparents Don and Louise Holway of Tulsa and anumber of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

KURR -- Raymond George, 73, was born in Bronx, NY on July 14, 1930 and passed away on February 29, 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond L. and Lillian; his sister, Doris Vanders; his daughter, Patricia Hesser; and infant grandsons, Jason and Joshua Hesser. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; Patricia's children, Christine and Michael Ian; and brother-in-law, Bill Hesser; his son, Raymond A. and his wife, Pam and their children, Brandi, Bridget, Brittney and Raymond A. II; his daughter, Deborah and her sons, Michael and Kenneth, Kenneth's wife, Holly and great-grandson, Kenny Jr.; his son, Michael and his wife, Brigitte and their sons, Jonathan, David and Chris; his stepson, Raymond C. McEntee and wife, Carmen and their daughters, Whitney and Sydney; his stepdaughter, Sheree Sweeney and her husband, Bill. Ray is also survived by his brother, Howard Kurr and his sister, Ann Gruber. In addiditon to his family, he leaves many friends and loved ones to cherish his memory. Ray served our country as a Marine in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a master mechanic, owning his own shop and working for several companies, including Saab Motor Company where he was also a top salesman. After retiring, Ray took a more focused interest in studying the Bible which led to an extended stay in Jerusalem, Israel, a city he dearly loved. He moved to Tulsa in 1996 to be closer to his family. He loved sharing his Christian faith with others and along with his wife, hosted Bible studies in his home. He had ties to several congregations in the Tulsa area and his fellowship will be missed. Visitation is on Thursday, March 4, 3-9 p.m. at Moore's Southlawn. Memorial service is Friday, 10 a.m., Moore's Southlawn 9350 E. 51st. Interment follows at 2 p.m. at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
