LESLEY ANN LAMBORN

Services for Lesley Ann Lamborn, 24, were held at noon Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, officiated by Reverend Dick Knox and Reverend Will Robinson. Interment was at Mounds Cemetery under the direction of Jack Selby, Bixby Funeral Service.

Ms. Lamborn was born August 31, 1978, in Stillwater, OK. She was the daughter of Randy D. Lamborn and Teresa Schunk Lamborn. She died July 3 at Tulsa.

She was a 1996 graduate of Jenks High School. She had attended Northeastern State University and was past president of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.

She is survived by her father. Randy Dee Lamborn, Mounds; her mother, Teresa Raybourn and husband David, Tulsa; one brother, Travis Lamborn, Tulsa; a step-brother, Brad Raybourn, Houston, TX; and a step-sister, Kelly Hall, Bixby. The maternal grandparents are Evelyn Stewart and Sharles Schunk, Tulsa; paternal grandparents are Earl and Donna Lamborn, Mounds.

Lane was born May 3, 1938 in Oklahoma City to McKinley and Elvie Lane. He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home, three daughters, Donna Roehrig of Piedmont, Okla., Dianna Sue Pilant of Tulsa and Lisa Roberts of Mannford, Okla.; one son, Michael Ray Lane of Jenks; four sisters, Janice Wesley and Jean Wofford, both of Tulsa, Corky Mitchell of Tulsa and Betty Jo Ramsey of Bristow; two brothers, David Lane of Claremore, Okla., and Harold Lane of Enid, Okla.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

LANE -- Jack H., 90, of Tulsa, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2001. He was born in Fort Worth, TX on October 25, 1911 to William E. and Addie R. (Stanfiel) Lane. Jack worked for the United States Government for over 42 years in several departments. At the time of his retirement he was with the Corps of Engineers in the Real Estate Division. While at the Corps of Engineers he spent several years purchasing land for the building of dams in Oklahoma. He was active in many organizations during his lifetime including the Masons, the Shrine, the Organ Club, NARFE, and Parkview Baptist Church. During his leisure time he enjoyed being with his family and playing golf. On September 1, 1934 he married Dollie Jenkins in Jackson, MS and they moved to Tulsa in 1939. He is survived by: his wife, Dollie; as well as his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dan McIntyre of Broken Arrow; his son, Glenn Lane of Annandale, VA; 5 grandchildren, Jeri Elliott of Frisco, TX, Teri Frank of Rosemount, MN, Jodi Govrik of Jenks, Steve Jenkins of Dallas, TX and Laura Lane of Annandale, VA; as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Friends who wish may contribute to Parkview Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-4 p.m., Sunday. BARTON -- Shon Ray Laughin, was born February 18, 1955, to Dale and Jacque Kelso in Hominy, OK. Shon passed on to Heaven, December 13, 2004. She was Custodial Supervisor at Jenks Schools System for many years and later a Personal Assistant for investor, J. McGrath. Shon was the most selfless, beautiful, compassionate, fun loving and morally sound person imaginable. She would often do without in order to help another family member or friend. She was so cute, had the most beautiful long hair and personality-plus that would light up any room. She was very bright, having completed enough credits to graduate high school by age 16. Sadly, did not complete college due to family obligations. Shon was a great dancer, enjoyed music, art, theatre, gardening, traveling and spending time with children. There is not enough space or time here for the accolades she deserves. Anyone's life would be enriched just to have met her. Shon was preceded in passing by father, Dale and brother, Charles. She is survived by: loving husband, Jim Barton; son, Aaron Laughlin and wife, Callie; daughter Terri Turner; sisters, Marsha Gibbs and Fawn Gurno; nieces, Wendy, Vickie and Nancy Gibbs, mother, Jacque Kelso; grandchildren, Samantha, Dalton, Madison, Tucker, Mckenna and Brett. LAWSON FUNERAL TODAY

Funeral services for former Jenks High School baseball coach L. D. Lawson are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Sapulpa. Lawson, 57, died Saturday in Sapulpa, where he owned a nursing home.

Lawson was chosen Tulsa World baseball coach of the year in 1974, when he guided Jenks to the Class 3A state championship with a 30-7 record.

Lawson was selected to the all-state team as a first baseman in 1961.

LAWSON, L.D., of Sapulpa, OK went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2001 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 27, 1943 in Ada, OK to Kenneth and Blanche Lawson. L.D. married Kay Carter Isbell on September 25, 1982. L.D. graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1961 and from Northeastern State University with an undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1966 and a Master's degree in Counseling in 1972. He was Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Football Coach at Cascia Hall during 1967-1973, also serving as Assistant Headmaster 1970-1973. In 1973 L.D. joined the coaching staff of Jenks School District as Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Football Coach and Assistant Principal and remained in those positions until 1983. L.D. was awarded Coach of the Year in 1973. At the time of his death he was Administrator of Ranch Terrace Nursing Home, Sapulpa, OK, owned by the Lawsons. L.D. was a member of Oaks Country Club, Board of Directors of Sapulpa Public Schools Education Foundation and Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Jennifer Lawson Kelsey, her husband, Scott and children, Trevor, Regan and Mckenna, Sapulpa; stepson, Randy Isbell, his wife, Sherri and children Payton and Ali, Sapulpa; stepson, Chad Isbell, his wife, Crystal and children, Justin and Kaylin, Sapulpa; parents Kenneth and Blanche Lawson, Sapulpa; sister and family, Linda Gail Lawson and Dallas Unger, Westville, OK and their children, Michelle Unger Cundy, Danielle Unger Secrest and Lance Unger; other family and extended family of friends who loved him as their own. RITES FOR BUSINESSMAN VERNON LAWSON PLANNED

BIXBY -- Vernon Lawson Jr., founder and former president and chief executive officer of EPSI Electrical Systems Inc., formerly of Bixby, died Sunday in Cookson. He was 66.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riverview Baptist Church in Bixby under the directon of Bixby Funeral Service.

Born March 11, 1936, in Haskell, Lawson worked for Nelson Electric from 1954 to 1968, when he moved to Bixby. In 1986, he founded Electrical Power Systems Inc., a manufacturer of electrical products.

He was honored by the Metropolitan Tulsa Chamber of Commerce in late 1987 for taking the company from 14 employees and $6 million in sales to 51 employees and $9 million in sales during its first year in business.

The business, which was started in Glenpool, was sold in 1996.

Lawson was a member of the Bixby school board from 1970 to 1985 and received the board's Distinguished Service Award in 1984.

He was a former member of the Bixby Optimist Club.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lawson; two sons, Tommy Lawson of Tulsa and Patrick Lawson of McKinney, Texas; two daughters, Kathy Bigson of Bixby and Toni Palmer of Broken Arrow; a brother, Bill Lawson of Sand Springs; a sister, Carol Johnson of Park Hill; and nine grandchildren.

LAYMON -- Marion "Son" (Son) Snively, of Bixby, OK, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2004. He was born on Brown Creek near Kellyville on November 13, 1919 to Marion H. and Gladys (Snively) Laymon. He grew up working on ranches around Pawhuska until enlisting in the U.S. Army at the outbreak of World War II, serving in the Field Artillery and obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Marksman Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. Son was a professional rodeo cowboy with the RCA Association during the 40's and 50's as a bull rider and bareback bronc rider. Later, he also enjoyed team roping. He also owned and operated a heating and air conditioning company in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Colorado. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nina Laymon of the home; 2 sons, Ike Laymon and wife, Rita of Okmulgee, OK, Bill Laymon and wife, Donna of Stroud, OK; his grandchildren, Sonny, James, Emily, Mark and Wayne; and 1 great-grandson, Colton. Service will be held Thursday, May 6, at 11 a.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Paul Martin will officiate. Interment will be in the Pahuska City Cemetery. ANDY LEE LEDBETTER

Services for Andy Lee Ledbetter, 64, 4636 S. 32nd W. Ave., Tulsa, were held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 in the Tulsa-Whisenhunt Funeral Home.

Ledbetter, a warehouseman for the B. F. Goodrich Company, died Monday of cancer in a Tulsa hospital. He had come from Muskogee to Tulsa in 1929. He was a World War I Army veteran, and a member of the Carbondale Community Church.

Besides his brother of Jenks, he is survived by a son, Edward E. Ledbetter of Tulsa and one grandchild.

JOHN D. LEDBETTER SERVICES HELD

John Dillard Ledbetter, born July 24, 1888, in Madison County, Ark., died in a Tulsa hospital Sept. 2.

Ledbetter first came to this area some sixty years ago and settled at Duck Creek, south of Bixby, in Indian Territory days. For many years, he worked as a driller in the oil fields of this area. After retiring from the oil field work, he farmed in semi-retirement for several years. The last three years of his life were spent with his niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mulkey, between Jenks and Bixby.

Funeral services were pending tuesday for Everett L. Lightner, 48, grocery store operator and postmaster at Glenpool. Mr. Lightner, well known in this area, died of a heart attack Sunday night.

Mr. Lightner had been a Glenpool resident for eight years. He moved to Glenpool from Sapulpa after previously operating grocery stores at Bowden and Pickett Prairie, in Creek County.

He was born at Tecumseh and was a member of the Kellyville Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include the widow, Lillie; a son, Donald Ray of Glenpool; three daughters, Karen Sue, Mrs. Barbara Hamilton and Mrs. Opal Bledsoe, all of Glenpool; his mother, Mrs. Dora Lightner, Wasco, Calif.; four brothers and four sisters.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow.

Casket bearers will be Mike Harrell, Scott Martin, Jim Gorrell, Charles Cotter, Vic Jones and Darryl Swartwood.

Thomas H. Linton

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for Thomas H. Linton, 59, who died Dec. 27, 2004 at Hillcrest Specialty Hospital in Tulsa.

Linton was born in New Castle, Penn., Oct. 18, 1945, son of Herbert Linton and Marion Schaeffer.

He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, Ohio. He attended college and enlisted in the United States Navy stationed at Treasure Island, San Francisco, Calif., before transferring as Commanding Officer to the U.S. Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge, Maryland.

He and Valerie McDonald were married Oct. 18, 1985 in Arlington, Texas.

Linton was a sales person with Mathis Brothers Furniture store at the time of his death. Hobbies included playing golf.

He is survived by his wife; his mother; a brother, Phillip Linton of Houston, Texas; a sister Linda Nance of Cortland, Ohio, and a daughter Kristen Linton of Jenks.

Services were held for Leota U. Long, 86, at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at First Baptist Church, Bixby, officiated by Reverend Keith Henson.

Interment was at Floral Haven Cemetery under the direction of Jack Selby, Bixby Funeral Service.

Mrs. Long was born Aug. 31, 1913, at Tulsa. She was the daughter of Walter Coulson and Ella Gosnell Coulson.

She died Wednesday, September 22, 1999, at her home in Bixby.

Mrs. Long lived in Jenks during the time she raised her three children.

Their home was always open to anyone who wanted to stop by for a visit, especially the young people, says a spokesperson who also said she loved to dance and had said she encouraged her daughter, Jackalee to marry her husband because he was a good dancer and could jitterbug with her mother.

She was known to her children and grandchildren as Otoe, a nickname given to her by late son-in-law Bobby Ewing.

She was said to have had a difficult life, bringing up her children in difficult times.

She worked three jobs in order to feed and clothe her family.

She worked at the Jenks Drug Store for many years while taking in laundry as well as ironing late into the night.

She was only five foot tall, but she worked as if she were a giant, says her family.

She retired from Atlas Life after 20 years in the tabulating department, moving to Bixby in 1975.

She was an active member at Riverview Baptist Church and the senior citizens center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pauline; brothers, Ira and Carl; and her son, James.

She is survived by one son, Richard (Wahoo) Joice of Bixby; on daughter, Jackalee Ewing Price of Bixby; one brother, Donald R. Cosby of Tulsa; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers for the service were Nick Ernce, Tom Ewing, Steve Ernce, Jeff Wilson, Jimmy Joice, Berry Cosby, Loren Cosby and Jack Selby.

Music for the service was provided by vocalist Lisa Cole Palmer and accompanist Dr. Danna Decker.

Funeral services for Laura Jane (Lott) Griffith were held on Dec. 14 at Airview Assembly of God Church in Jenks with Rev. C.C. Combs officiating.

Graveside services were held at Hugh-David Lowe Cemetery in Scipio, with Rev. Bob Tate of McAlester officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Ninde Funeral Home of Tulsa.

Mrs. Griffith was born Jan. 15, 1918 in Scipio to George Columbus (Lum) Lott and Naomi (Price) Lott. She died on Dec. 11 in her home at the age of 76.

She lived in Jenks for 21 years, as a homemaker and had a family day care center in her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grand-daughter and eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: three daughters, Ruby Shelnutt of Kansas, Okla., Wilma Stephens of McAlester and Linda Griffith of Jenks; one son, Lloyd Dee Griffith of Farmington, New Mexico; two sisters, Lillie Bennett of Lubbock, Texas, Lois Tivis of Portales, New Mexico; three brothers, Theo Lott of Yreka, Calif., Fines Lott and Valter Lott both of Roswell, New Mexico and one sister-in-law Bonnie Lott of Alamogordo, New Mexico; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.

The Griffith family wishes to thank everyone for the beautiful flowers, cards and loving care given to their mother during her lengthy illness.

Roy Lee Love, 74, of 220 East A Street, died October 8.

Funeral services were Monday afternoon in the First United Methodist Church, with burial in the Bixby Cemetery.

Mr. Love was born in Norman and came to Jenks in 1916.

He was owner of Love Dry Cleaners until his retirement in 1964. A World War I veteran, member of National Dry Cleaning Association, and Woodsmen of the World, he was also a charter member of the Jenks Lions Club.

Mr. Love use to play the violin and banjo for community dances. From 1925 till 1947, he was mayor for the town of Jenks.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Norma Lee Payton of Okmkulgee; two sons, Donald Roy of Norman and Leonard Wayne of Tulsa; two brothers, Lon of Tulsa and Olin of Rhodesa, Louisiana; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Shimp of Bixby and Mrs. Ima Moates of Hawkins, Texas; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ninde Colonial Funeral Home directed.

Mrs. Lowman was a member of a pioneer Bixby family. She was the wife of J. A. Lowman, retired assistant cashier of the Fourth National Bank of Tulsa.

A native of Mount Judy, Ark., Mrs. Lowman came to Bixby in 1909. She was a former school teacher, a member of the Church of Christ and Order of Eastern Star.

Also surviving are a son, four daughters, including Mrs. Carl Kaufman, two sisters and twelve grandchildren.
