BIXBY WOMAN DIES IN MAINE CRASH; FORGAN MAN DEAD

A Bixby woman died when her sport utility vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer rig Wednesday in Maine, and a Forgan man died Tuesday after he was hit by a vehicle in western Oklahoma.

Dead are Alicia Turner, 38, of Bixby; and Kelly Lee Wynn, 46, of Forgan.

Turner died at the scene after her 2003 Jeep Liberty crossed the center line and hit a truck on Route 9 east of Bangor, the Maine State Police reported.

Both vehicles were demolished, but the truck driver, Jonathan MacCullum, 29, of New Bruswick, was not injured, authorities said.

Road conditions and unsafe speed apparently were factors in the crash, police said.

Wynn died at a Perryton, Texas, hospital after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle on a county road southwest of Elmwood in Beaver County.

Troopers said he had parked his southbound 2002 Chevrolet pickup, which was pulling a 14-foot trailer, on the northbound side of a gravel road, had left the vehicle's lights on and had gotten out. He was standing between the trailer and a stock tank when a northbound 1985 Ford Bronco, driven by Chad Logan Luck, 31, of Booker, Texas, struck the pickup's front fender and then hit Wynn.

The Bronco then rolled 1 1/2 times before coming to rest on its top in a ditch. Luck was ejected and landed on top of his vehicle, troopers said.

Luck was taken to a Lubbock, Texas, hospital where he was in critical condition. His passenger, Dana M. Gray, 19, of Booker, was treated at and released from the Perryton hospital. Neither she nor Luck had been wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
