Living in the same community most of your life is a blessing. I have not only lived in Jenks for nearly fifty years, but have, except for a very brief time, lived on the same street.
When you grow up in a small, but growing city, you learn quickly that there are no strangers. You find that your family suddenly becomes extended to persons that some call neighbors. They are there to teach you, to help raise you, to tattle on you if necessary, and to encourage you as you mature.
The citizens of Jenks, America (Oklahoma), are children I grew up with, grandmas and grandpas that fed us cookies and policemen and firemen that knew us by our first names. Then we all grow older and some leave this earth for a better place.
Beginning September, 2001, we will be including obituaries and death notices from the neighboring towns of Bixby and Glenpool. Many Jenks residents have relatives and close friends who live in these two communities which are located "right out our back door."
It is with love and honor to the memory of these friends and neighbors, and yes, some family members, I dedicate this page.
