VERNA ELEANOR VAN HORN

VERNA ELEANOR VAN HORN, daughter of John Calvin Van Horn (and Mary Frances Canfield), son of John C. Van Horne, was born on April 4, 1882, in Miami County, Kansas. She died on August 8, 1970, in San Diego County, California. Verna Eleanor Van Horn married Joe Moorhead in 1908 in McAlester, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma.

Verna Eleanor Van Horn was a widow when she died, according to her death certificate. She died in Hillside Hospital in San Diego, San Diego Co., California of Cardiac failure, acute; coronary insufficiency, caused by advanced coronary arteriosclerosis. She also had fractures to the right ribs. She had been residing in a convalescent home and was said to have fallen to the floor while getting out of bed. This accident happened on July 22, 1970, at 2 a.m. She was cremated at the Greenwood Crematory under the direction of Heath Funeral Home on August 11, 1970. The informant listed on the death certificate is Joseph E. Moorhead of Dallas, Texas. Verna was said to have lived in the State of California for 40 years and within the County of San Diego for 30 years prior to her death.
