  • Mary E. Whitcomb was born in 1837 or 1838 in Maine She may have been the daughter-in-law, rather than daughter, of Abraham Whitcomb.1
  • She was the daughter of Abraham Whitcomb and Betsey Houghton.1
  • The census of 1870 shows:
    Mary E. Whitcomb, 32, keeping house; in the household of
    Abraham Whitcomb, 72, a farmer with $600 real estate and $500 personal estate. The census lists his household adjacent to that of his son John's;
    living at Waterford, Oxford County, Maine.1
