     Here are some selected obituaries found in the March 1938 (Volume 59, Number 2) issue of The Texas Druggist. (Surnames are capitalized for emphasis. Some punctuation may be changed for clarity.)

     Page 13 – “Mrs. Edgar HULL, 30, wife of Dr. Edgar HULL [of] New Orleans, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. PARHAM, 1170 Ontario Street, was fatally injured Sunday, Dec. 12th, when she fell down the basement steps at the home of friends, Dr. and Mrs. L. A. MONTE, where the Hulls were visiting.

     Mrs. Hull was born in Ladonia, Texas, and came to Shreveport with her parents when she was an infant. She graduated from the C. E. Byrd High School and later attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans.
She was married in 1930 to Dr. Hull, formerly on the staff of the Highland Clinic here [i. e., Shreveport], and they later moved to New Orleans.

     Mrs. Hull is survived by her husband and an infant daughter, Alice Louise, 16 months of age, [and] her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Parham of Shreveport, [who] are engaged in the manufacturing of well-known toiletries.”

     Page 22 – “S. J. FERGESON, 73, pioneer druggist of Crowell and one of the early settlers of Foard County, died at his home in Crowell, Monday morning, Dec. 13th, following a serious illness of several weeks.

     Mr. Fergeson had been in the drug business in Crowell for 37 years. He and his three brothers, T. J.; C. R.; and H. E. Fergeson bought a drug business in 1901 that was established by the late B. F. ALLISON. He was a faithful worker in the Methodist Church for many years, having served as a member of the board of stewards....” A picture of Fergeson accompanies the obituary.

 
     “M. G. CALVERT, 65, former prominent businessman and druggist at Eagle Lake for many years, died shortly after 10 o’clock, Monday night, Jan. 10th, following a stroke at 11 a. m. [the] same morning.

     Mr. Calvert, for many years prominently associated with Eagle Lake’s business and social life, was born in Hunt County, Texas, in 1872, spending his boyhood days in and around Campbell and Greenville.

     In 1928, he took over the former Putney Drug Store interests and continued the business until about two years ago, when he disposed of the stocks and retired from active business.


     George H. McQUISTON, 78, died suddenly at 10 a. m., Sunday, Jan. 16. Mr. McQuiston had been in the drug business in Bronte for 30 years [and] was prominently associated in civic affairs and a director of the Bronte bank.”
