     Here are more miscellaneous items from the June 1929 (Volume 50, Number 3) issue of The Texas Druggist. (Surnames are capitalized for emphasis. Some punctuation may be added or changed for clarity.)

     Page 175 – “The name of Lester’s Drug Store at Woodsboro has been changed to The Coast Drug Company, according to manager WATSON of the establishment. Houston parties are also opening a store at Ingleside, which will be known by the same name and will be managed by Mr. LESTER, who opened the Woodsboro store.

     The [Lufkin} News understands that our fellow townsman, R. L. SPIVEY, was elected president of the East Texas Druggists Association, convening in the neighboring city of Nacogdoches for the past couple of days....”

     Page 177 – “J. Y. PEARCE has installed new fixtures at Ballinger.

     J. M. PEACOCK of Dallas is now with Wanser Drug Company at Texline.

     Rex ALLEN and Welton BLACK have purchased the Williams Drug Co. at Lorena.

     Webb MADDING has lately opened two new drug stores in Houston, making a chain of ten stores which he operates in that city.

     L. F. FRY has purchased the interest of Ed LAWHON and Otto CAIN in the drug business on the south side of square at Ladonia.

     John A. WEEKS has opened a new store in the Hilton Hotel at San Angelo. He is associated with his son-in-law, R. W. EARNSHAW.

     E. O. ELLIOTT has opened a new store in the Laguna Hotel in Cisco. At his formal opening in April, thousands of citizens attended.

     Recently the Central Drug Store at Fredericksburg has installed several important improvements. Mr. SCHAEFER is the efficient manager of the store.

     Formal opening of the Quitaque Drug Store, located in the Jago Building, was held on Saturday, April 6. R. L. GANT and J. R. LUSK are the owners.

     J. C. GIBSON of Troy, Texas, has leased the business room in the Cortez Hotel, fronting on Texas Ave. and First Street, at Weslaco and opened a new drug store.

     P. L. POWERS, formerly associated with the Pipkin Drug Company of Waco, and Mrs. Powers have joined the Hotel Pharmacy at Midland. I. E. DANIELS is proprietor.

     The Petroleum Pharmacy, Rexall Store No. 2, [a] new drug establishment, is to be located in the Petroleum Building at Midland and will be owned by T. A. FANNIN and Son (sic).

     The Guinn Drug Store No. 2 at Houston opened April 9th, opposite St. Josephs Infirmary at Pierce and Crawford. Byron GUINN, owner, has been in the drug business for 17 years.

     J. C. RICHARDS, for several years with the Ballinger State Bank, has accepted employment with Weeks Drug Store of Ballinger and will relieve Lurin McALLISTER, who will soon go to San Angelo.

     The Owl Drug Store, 821 Main, Houston, has been bought by the Walgreen Company of Chicago. The Chicago company recently bought the eight Court House Pharmacy stores. The Owl Drug Store was bought from W. M. CONNOR.

     Dr, R. L. GAY, who has been in the drug business at O’Brien for some time, has bought the stock of drugs and sundries at the Crumes drug store and has added the O’Brien stock to this stock...[He] will continue the drug business at the Crumes stand.”
