Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie SCHILLINGS of Good Hope, Mr. and Mrs. Wiley HUMPHRIES of James, Mrs. Carl CRAIG and Mrs. Lela DAY of Nacogdoches were the Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. George HUMPHRIES.

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar HOWARD and daughter, Mary Jane, visited Mr. Howard’s mother Saturday.

Notices in the newspaper pertain to a variety of topics. For example, a brief item states: “Traffic is permitted on Highway No. 8 from Center to the detour at the Joe CHRISTIAN farm near Tenaha, although the road is not officially opened for use....”

Another concerns a lost animal. E. E. NEWMAN of Joaquin offered a reward for his lost mule: “One black mare mule about 12 years old; one ear marked; eights about 800 pounds.”

Two “Card of Thanks” appeared in this issue. One was from Mr. Calvin HUGHES and children for friends’ “kindnessess to us in the “illness and death of our wife and mother....” The other was from Mr. and Mrs. J. C. HURST for all the kindness and sympathy extended to them “during and since the illness and death of our son, J. C. Junior....”
