Rosemary Galvan Walsh (e-mail: [email protected]) would appreciate any information on the children and descendants of Juan GALVAN, soldier and explorer in what is now Texas. He was stationed at San Antonio De Bexar (now San Antonio, TX) in the 1720s. In 1733, he married Francisca Xaviera MALDONADO, daughter of Sgt. Francisco Xavier and Agueda Ximenez (Gill) MALDONADO of San Antonio. He and Francisca had ten children. Juan helped to settle the mission and presidio of San Saba.
The selected items below come from the "Condensed News" column of the 17 July 1908 issue of the Dallas Semi-Weekly Farm News, published in Dallas, TX. Both are from Waco, TX. (Surnames are capitalized for emphasis.)
