Would you like to have quick and easy access to essential charts and forms for genealogical research? That is possible with the new CD, THE FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH TOOLKIT by Michael Hait. Created in Adobe PDF format and devised to meet the basic needs of individuals tracing their pedigrees, the genealogical forms and charts can be used in several ways: printed as blank forms to carry for onsite research, filled in and printed to file in a notebook or to share with others, or saved on the computer for future reference.

Hait's CD has the basic genealogical forms such as the pedigree chart, family group sheet, and research log. In addition, he provides other useful forms for a variety of data: census extraction for the 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 schedules; household tracker for the years 1790-1840, 1850-1870, and 1880-1900; and miscellaneous, such as census neighbors, land history, metes & bounds, probate extraction, household estimator, and notes for book microfilm, and internet. Each form has space for the all-important source citations in the style recommended in Evidence! by Elizabeth Shown Mills.

THE FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH TOOLKIT combines the standard genealogical forms like the pedigree chart and family group record with worthwhile forms designed by the author. Since various types of forms are needed as family research progresses and new discoveries are made, genealogists of all experience levels can appreciate the practical function of Hait's CD.

To the CD's price of $19.99, buyers should add the cost for postage and handling charges. For U. S. postal mail, the cost is $4.00 for CD and $2.00 for each additional copy; for UPS, the cost is $6.00 for one CD and $2.50 for each additional copy. The CD (item order #7545) may be purchased by check, MasterCard, or Visa from Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 3600 Clipper Mill Rd., Suite 260, Baltimore, Maryland 21211 (for phone orders, call toll free 1-800-296-6687; fax 1-410-752-8492; website www.genealogical.com).

Rosemary Galvan Walsh (e-mail: [email protected]) would appreciate any information on the children and descendants of Juan GALVAN, soldier and explorer in what is now Texas. He was stationed at San Antonio De Bexar (now San Antonio, TX) in the 1720s. In 1733, he married Francisca Xaviera MALDONADO, daughter of Sgt. Francisco Xavier and Agueda Ximenez (Gill) MALDONADO of San Antonio. He and Francisca had ten children. Juan helped to settle the mission and presidio of San Saba.
