     In celebration of November's designation as Native American Indian Heritage Month, we continue selected information from pages 514-515 of the ANNUAL REPORT OF THE COMMISSIONER OF INDIAN AFFAIRS, 1894 (Washington: Government Printing Office, 1895). The list provides the person's name, position, salary, sex, "color" (sic) (White or Indian), and date of "present" appointment.

     Employees at the Albuquerque School in Albuquerque, NM, on 30 June 1894, included the following:

     If your ancestors or relatives were druggists in the Lone Star State, you may be able to find some information about them in the periodical The Texas Druggist. The following death notice can be found on page 183 of the June 1929 (Vol. 50, no. 3) issue: "B. F. STEWART, 85 years old, Confederate veteran and for many years a druggist at Poetry, Kaufman County, died Sunday morning, May 26, following a paralytic stroke. He is survived by four daughters. Burial took place the following Monday morning at Poetry, J. E. B. Stuart Camp, of Terrell, of which he was a member, had charge of the funeral."

     The periodical usually had a section called "Drug Store Happenings" which contained a variety of miscellaneous data. Also found on page 183 of the June 1929 issue are these selected items:

"Mr. C. A READ of Abernathy recently accepted a position as prescription clerk with the Palace Drug Company at Estelline.

Dave N. BARNES has been transferred to the Anderson Drug Store in Fort Worth.

J. O. KING and sons, E. S. KING and J. C. KING, recently purchased the Schill Drug Store at Brady.

Mr. J. A. PARKER of Kirbyville, recently accepted a position as prescription clerk with the Sulphur Drug Store at Freeport."
