This unit debarks from LCI and commences wading ashore at Le Gde Dune, France. Water is found to be well beyond the depth of the troops. A scene of wild confusion follows as the men struggle in the water. In some cases men are forced to discard rifles, packs, and helmets. All eventually reach shore safely, some only through the aid of their comrades. M/Sgt Chiles (S-1) evacuated to field hospital, suffering from exhaustion.
