Pvt. Lawrence Suchie was liberated from a German Prison camp. sod also got a letter from him written May 24 saying he was free and was waiting for a ship to bring him home. He was captured Aug. 7, 1944, in France.

Pvt. Lawrence H. Suchie who was a prisoner of the Nazis since Aug. 7, 1944, until May, when he was liberated, is home on a 60 day furlough with his parents of 135th St. and Hoyne ave. Lawrence was a member of the 298th Engineer Combat Bn, when captured. Most of his time as a prisoner was spent working on German railroads out of Stalag 7-A. He looks well but does not care to talk about his experiences. He is glad to be home at the same time as his old buddy Pvt, Richard Madrid.
