Evangeline Oak (St. Martinsville, LA)
Longfellow's poem "Evangeline" immortalized the tragedy of the
Acadians exile from Nova Scotia in 1755. This oak marks the
legendary meeting place of Emmeline Labriche and Louis Arceneaux,
the counterparts of Evangeline and Gabriel.
