Death of Frank Foster.

A neighbor of the deceased sends us the following particulars of the death of this well known citizen.

Died, at his home on section 9, Spring township, Cherokee Co., after a long and ainful illness, Frank A. Foster, aged 43 years, 6 months, and 22 days. He had been complaining for several weeks early in the fall, but kept working, thinking it might not be anything serious. He was very anxious to have the corn in crib so the boys might begin school at the opening of the winter term, but before the corn was out he had to yield to a severe attach of malaria fever. After keeping his bed for three weeks he was able to be up, but after a week or so was prostrated, this time showing symptoms of brain trouble, and one side was paralyzed. He improved under the massage treatment, so that he was able to get out of his bed and walk around the room. This lasted about a week then he failed rapidly, and all that medical skill and the best of nursing could do was done. His devoted wife was at his bedside almost constantly and his friends and neighbors took turns in ministering to his wants, but it was not to be and after an illness of over four months he passed away surrounded by his famly and friends, on Sunday at noon, March 22. He was buried in Cedar cemetery; funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church in Larrabee, Rev. Cairns officiating. During all his illness it was remarable how patiently he bore all his sufferings, although he never made a profession of religion, but his friends can truthfully say that he lived a concientious, useful and unselfish life, undeavoring at all times to live out the Golden Rule. Frank A. Foster was born near South Bend, Ind. , August 31, 1852. His mother died when he was four years old. At the age of 19 he and his father came to Iowa, and located two miles west of Larrabee. He was married July 17, 1876 to Mary Cody. He moved from Cedar township to the home in which he died in the fall of 1880. Five children were born to them, three boys and two girls all whom are living. In the summer of 1888 he moved with his family to the Black Hills and staid four years, after which he returned to his home in Spring townthip. the wife and family have the heartfelt sympathy of their friends and neighbors in their great loss.
