Francis KNIBBS, son of John KNIBBS and Jane SCARSBROUGH , was born 24 October 1731. He married Sarah CHERRY 19 August 1783 in Deddington, Oxfordshire, England. He died 01 December 1801. Sarah CHERRY was born 1749. She died 23 May 1800.

Jon Malings of the Deddington Online web site has researched a house currently named 'Winmour' in Philcote Street, Deddington. Deeds from those times often identified the house by stating the occupiers on either side. Jon has advised me of the following:

In 1774 and 1790 the house on the south side of Winmour was occupied by Francis Knibbs
In 1792 it was occupied by Edward Knibbs
In 1806 it was Ann Knibbs, widow of Edward.

We believe the house occupied by the Knibbs was No. 179 Philcot Street.

Francis would have been Francis Knibbs, husband of Avis Bates. Edward was most probably their son, married to Ann Townsend.
