They had the following children.

M i Samuel PARSONS was born on 30 Jun 1733. He died on 9 Dec 1812.

Joseph PARSONS was born on 25 Jun 1620 in Great Torrington, Devonshire, England. He died on 9 Oct 1683 in Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts. Joseph married (MRIN:6705) Mary BLISS on 26 Nov 1646 in Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts.

BIOGRAPHY: According to the Beaminster town Historian (Marie Eedle)nothing is known of Joseph's father (William Parsons) before he showed up in town about the same time a woolen mill was opened nearby. Family tradition indicates that william came from Great Torrington or Tiverton,Devonshire, about 63 miles to the east. However there are no records to support this assumption. In those days, people did not generally travel long distances. Joseph's mother (margret Hoskins) was born in Beaminster, about 1584, her parents were Robert and Margaret Hoskins. Joseph's parents both died in Besminster.
According to Henry Parsons (PARSONS FAMILY, Vol 1,1912, page 30,paragraph 3,line 6) at the apparent age of about 15 or 17,joseph and his younger brother (Benjamin) immigrated to the America from England in July of 1635, aboard the Barque Transport (Edward Walker, Master) out of Gravesend,Kent,England. 1636 The first record of Joseph Parsons being in America was on the 15th of
July 1636 in New England, he was a witness to a land deal between the local Indians and William Pynchon.
1646 first official public office on the 8th of January 1646 was Highway surveyor of Springfield Massachusetts. Marries Mary Bliss on the 26th of Nov 1646 through the years they had 13 children, that we know of,8 boys, and 5 girls.
Official records of note occur in the following years in Springfield 1647,1650,1652,1653 moved to Northampton 1654,and each year to,1660 Joseph owned 81 acres of land in addition to the 4 acres that his house was on.1661 thru,1670-71-72-73-77-1682-1683 Joseph died in Springfield,Hampden,Massachusetts on the 9th of October 1683.

BIOGRAPHY: Medal Winner At The Age Of Seventy
Mrs. Louis Johnson of St. Joseph Headed List of Six
Mrs. Louis Johnson of St. Joseph, 70 years old, won the matron’s Silver medal offered by the Urbana Woman’s Christian Temperance Union at the contest conducted by Mrs. Josephine Slawson at Crystal Lake park Thursday afternoon, being placed first in a list of six contestants. Mrs. Johnson’s subject was: “The Curse of Our Country and the Remedy,” a subject which she discussed with vigor and clearness of mind which placed the audience with the judges when the decision was announced and caused those who heard her to agree with her statement on accepting the medal, that she did not happen to know who the judges were, but she knew “they were bright, intelligent women.” They were Mesdames Hunt, Ellis and Slocum. The medal was presented by Mrs. Gilmer.  Mrs. Johnson was the last speaker on the list and while waiting for the judges to render their decision, entertained the audience with two recitations, one to make the little folks laugh and another to bring mirth to the older people. A song by the children of the Cunningham home was added to the program and was applauded; the little folks sang well and appeared willing to make one number on the program, having been invited to spend the afternoon at the picnic.  Contestants for the medal other than the winner were:
Mrs. Walter Jerauld of Urbana, The Crime of Crimes.”
Mrs. Hill of St. Joseph, “The Bugle Call.”
Mrs. Ida Benton of Urbana, “Yes, I Am Guilty.”
Mrs. George Charles of Urbana, “The Independent Plan.”
Each of these contestants was prompt to congratulate the winner and there was not one of them who did not feel that the judges had made a wise decision. Following the contest the Urbana union was joined by the Champaign Union for the annual picnic, the lunch baskets being opened at the park after an exchange of greeting. This picnic was one of the pleasing visits of the two organizations which are doing much to make the work of temperance in the University community a success.
